My sisters German cw-help needed - A Meeting of Minds

OK, I'm not trying to be cheeky here but my sister needs some help with her A level German cw- for part of it she needs to write to someone in Germany about German festivals in German. Unfortunately her school being rubbish and not really bothering about German, they haven't bothered about organising people for them to contact!
The other 2 people doing the A level are writing to one of their friend's German Grandmother but Lizi wants to try to find someone else to email! So is it possible for someone to help?

what is a cw-?

Since I'm not German, but "just" a Dane living in Germany, I'm not sure if I could qualify as a recipient.

I could of course ask some of the Germans that I know, if that would help you. I must say it sounds like a fun project. When you say festivals, do you mean festive holidays?

yep- sorry cw is short for coursework.
I'll check about you being a dane- I think the important thing is that you live in Germany though! Their teacher's useless he only gets paid to teach them for 1hr a week though he does 2 lessons (they're SUPPOSED to have 4hrs!) and he's not bothered about them. He's set them the work without any sources or anything!

My German isn't bad. In Denmark you usually learn German in the 7th-9th grade, so I have had 3 years of German in school. That is admittingly long ago, but I have now been living in Germany for 1½ year and have no trouble understanding German or being understood.

Besides, German isn't that hard to learn and speak when you know Danish. A lot of the words and expresions are amazingly alike - Denmark is after all a neighbour country to Germany.

Then you'll get a kick out of this. Both sides of my family came from Northern Germany. Down the road from us lived a family who ancestors came from Denmark. No connections between the 2 families. My sister and their youngest son looked enough alike as kids that they could have been twins.

I wrote back to her today. Was fun to write a letter in German.

I'm sure I must have made some grammatical mistakes, but with any luck she won't notice.
