Was offline all afternoon because my tablet froze and had to let the battery die!! It's charging now!! Gonna be offline for awhile tomorrow!!

3 out of four kittens have figured out the pet door. One was going in and out, just because he could.

I'm so sorry, Mausey! We have all had third doses of vaccine and will have a small Christmas just with family. Our son is arriving today. His girlfriend and her family have gone on vacation so he'll be here through Christmas. Daughter and her husband will come over Christmas morning for stockings and gifts. Then all of us go to his dad's for a huge Italian feast.

On Christmas morning I always recite this - it is part of a longer piece:

"Christmas morning in Broad Daylight.
Who do you think was here last night?
Dressed all in fur from his head to his toes.
I won't tell for I think you know!"

A belated thank you for the birthday wishes. It was a quiet day since my country is in lockdown and only 2 visitors per day are allowed :-)

Kibby works tomorrow, from 11:30, until they tell her to go away. They close at 8, so no later than 8:30. She thinks she'll get off earlier.
Christmas day, not doing much. It'll just be Kibby, Hubby, my sister, who lives her and me.

Is Kibby still working at Olive Garden and if so does she still like it? My daughter's friend has been a hostess at one near here for about 8 years and still happy with it.

It is currently flurrying and there is about an inch on the ground. If it does not turn to rain we could have a pretty Christmas.

Kibby LOVES Olive Garden. They treat like a real adult human. They ask if they need Her to work on days she's suppose to have off. If her shoulder hurts, they understand and make accommodations. She's got a messed shoulder.

I once worked at a Checkers location, the manager was working me less and less (she didn't like me). In a two week time period, I got $27!!! $6 an hour! Weekly bus fare was $13!! So I quit the job!!! It was like I was paying to work!!!! She had told me not to move her food ( I was a grill operator). I had to move the food at one point to cook the burgers, she slapped my face!! A coworker saw her slap me! I wanted to call the cops on her, but if I left the restaurant to go to the payphone, she would have fired me!!

Since they have been banned it may not come up. It did for a while. It really makes no difference except I find it odd that a banned account would continue to show up for over a year. Even if it is a "bot" I still see no sense in it.

This is the second time I've had to wear a bag during Christmas time!!! The first time was in 2004-2005!!! With that time, I couldn't sleep too well the night before I went to the hospital!! Whenever I tried to lay on my back, my abdomen would start hurting!! I had the boyfriend of a girl I knew take me to the hospital!! A few days after the surgery, a nurse told me that if I'd waited another 6 hours to go to the hospital, I'd have died!! I was in serious but stable condition!! But this time around, I very nearly died!!! I guess I was in critical condition!! But it wasn't my time to go!!

Today, I got 2 bath rags, a towel, some soap, some candy and some chips!!! Forgot to mention, a pair of night clothes!! Yesterday, I got some night clothes!! So I have 2 pairs of night clothes!!!

My husband got a drone. I'm not sure what he'll do with it. I said he can chase the cats around the house with it. (I AM kidding). I got a new Keurig, the old one kept spitting out coffee grounds even when it was cleaned out. Lots of chocolate and candy. Will not need to buy any for months. The cats got several new catnip toys and on Christmas eve they got a box of fancy chicken pate that even had gravy. They probably think that should be every meal, spoiled monsters! I got 2 lovely mostly instrumental CD's by David Arkenstone. One is titled Fairy Dreams, the other is Fairy Tales. Quiet, gentle and soothing.

I got a shirt from my MIL (currently still WFH, but the dress code at my office is casual, so I haven't changed the way I dress for work), some coffee from my SIL, and chocolate from my parents, and a big (6 in) gingerbread man from my son. He'd spent a day baking and decorating with my mom and sister the weekend before Christmas. We also exchanged Christmas flowers. Years ago, my family decided that we'd only exchange consumable presents, but my MIL's not getting aboard that train. Still, I can use the shirts she gives me, so I don't mind too much.


Like Priscilla, I won't need to buy any chocolate for months. In fact, we had to put some of ours away on a high shelf, because most of the candy our son got from family will be eaten by us, because he's very picky about the candy he eats (no chocolate, marzipan, or jelly candy; he basically only eats plain licorice, triple-salted licorice, and fruit gum).

We didn't really do gifts this year. Hubby and I bought ourselves a king sized, heavy weight, down filled duvet from a local lady. Not only are we supporting a local business, it was about half the price of a similar one in a bedding store. I have a cover for it coming from the same lady so we're set. She said with minimal care the duvet should easily last us 20 years.

We're in a bit of a deep freeze right now. Our one son told us that 8 of the 10 coldest places in the world were in Alberta overnight. I woke up to -30c with a wind chill of -40c. I had damp hair and popped outside to give the step a quick sweep and my hair froze in under 15 seconds. Today is very much a and day.

Our mail system is so backed up with all the on-line shopping I just got a Christmas card that was mailed Nov 26th. Thank you Cilla.

Yeah, I have to convert as well. The only one I remember is -18 C = 0 F, from working at a fast-food restaurant as a student. I'll remember those numbers for the rest of my life, from all the boxes of frozen fries I had to open. Anyway -30 C = -22 F and -40 C = -40 F, with some rounding up. That's really cold!


Even so, I couldn't bear to sleep with anyone else under the same comforter. I guess I didn't marry young enough, and spent most of my 20s and early 30s until I met my husband sleeping alone. I'm utterly and totally convinced that moving to separate bedrooms when our son was born saved my sanity and our marriage. I'm a restless and poor sleeper, and turn into an ogre when I don't get enough sleep (this is also the main reason why I'm quite content to have a singleton kid).

Granath, I can understand the need for a good night sleep. My husband snores and I have been sleeping with ear plugs in for years. Our son has mild asthma and sleep apnea. He recently bought an adjustable bed so he can raise his head and legs to be more comfortable. He also recently got a plastic "mouthpiece" to wear at night from his dentist that is meant to cut down on snoring/apnea. Snoring certainly runs in my family. My parents snored so loudly that as a kid in the next room to theirs I used to dream about lions roaring!

Wow, that's amazing. My dad also snores, to the point that my mom has some hearing loss on his side. I haven't been able to find any earplugs that would stay in my ears without also making my pulse sound very loud and making it hard to sleep.

Snoring runs in my family too! While I was in the hospital and in the rehab facility, my bed was propped at a 30-45 degree angle!

Becomes human again with warm water!!!

I'm afraid not. I don't watch tv in any form (Netflix, other sources, cable channels, etc). I read or sew and listen to mostly instrumental quiet CD's.

Granath, I'm not sure if they have them where you are or if you are even interested. I use a brand of earplugs called "Hearos" - they are very squishy and seem to keep out most noise without the loud heart beat problem you mention.

Mawra, I could have my own room but so far I don't need it.

Thanks for the tip. I doubt I'll need them for daily use, especially given that earplugs tend to make my ear canals very itchy as well, but I'll definitely keep it in mind for when travel is an option again and we'll need to share a hotel room.
