Aarens, Arnie, Janet Bollinger were all pains. But weren't there military types that Zainal called "brass heads" that were trying to take over the running of Botany, they cut into Chuck's responsibilites, and Zainal and Kris didn't like how they took over and did some things?

Aarens is the main one I remember, so he must have been one of the very worst! I have a vague memory of Arnie as a separate ijit, but I remember having a hard time at times keeping the two of them straight, given their similar names and levels of idiocy.

Arnie was just a perv. Easy enough to deal with pervs, if you don't have any bleeding heart liberals going on about convicts' rights.....

Arens was almost a total loss of human space. Unfortunately, to make use of the skills he DID possess and were needed....he had to be kept intact.

Dick Aarens....
perfect name really. And at the top of the list for worst possible candidate for humanity's continuing genepool. yik! I was perpetually wishing he'd find himself unceremoniously dumped in one of the valleys the Turs were living in, lol.

Lenvec

yeah, the guy with the clipboard... i wanted to take that clipboard and "insert tab A into slot B" and wish him well with his newest accoutrement.

My sympathies ahead of time to you Dragonsqueen, lol. Once you get the first nibble of Aaren's style, you'll be longing for something to gargle his aftertaste out.

I think the world and his wife all hate Aarens but to paraphrase Jessica Rabbit
"I'm not a bad person it's the way I was drawn"
In Aarens case- written!!!
I wonder if he's an amalgamation of the worst aspects of several people or whether poor Anne does know someone this disagreeable!!!!

Miss Anne most likely knew someone pretty darned close to Aarens IRL. I've had the misfortune of at least one like him in my life, *shudder* horrible man... So it stands to reason she's probably run into a good example of Aaren's type of insufferable nature.

What irritated me was that Aarens never learned. He kept on and on thinking he was G*d's gift to women
Could a man in real life really NOT get the message quite quickly?
I would hate to think he wouldnt

Lily, I hate to tell you, darling... the answer in a word is YES.

There is one guy I used to work with who is an Arens...was when I worked with him ten years ago, still is, always will be. And he's been told to his face he's the only one who thinks he's gods gift to females. Men like that hear what they want to hear, see what they want to see...and think they're the center of the universe!

I also think Arens is less than likeable, but the one I dislike even more is Balenquah. He puts them all in danger when they go to Barevi, and he allways look for the darkest side to look at.

DICK Aarens is my least favorite. I have often wondered if Anne formed his character from someone she knows

I'm with Ingerid, Aarons is a pervey jerk but Balenquah is dangerous. He endangered the Barevi mission which ticked me off, but then he kept trying to feel Kris up, that made me positively livid.
