Gender display - A Meeting of Minds

Fresh from my success of fixing the javascript problem that prevented the drop down menus from working on certain pages, I've gotten bold and made a change I've wanted to try out for a while but hadn't researched how to do.

When viewing a thread you'll see now that there's a new field that shows under a person's name & avatar, "Gender". Personally I find this handy for avoiding errors in referring to someone as him or her when it's not obvious from their username what gender they are. This field has always been viewable on someone's profile, but now you need not check someone's profile to see it.

Of course it is dependent upon a person selecting either M or F for gender in their profile, which no one need do if they wish not to. If you haven't made a selection and would like to, just go under "edit profile" in the User CP (link found in top nav bar).

Thank you Cheryl, I have been unsure at times who I have been talking to. And not sure how to approach the subject, or answer a question with out sounding weird. This will make most of it clearer. I love knowing who I am talking to, and where in general that they come from. That way we can share our differences and similarities. Isn't that what we are all doing here. Sharing our love of Anne, and making friends with each other because of that fact?

Well, it won't be so much of an issue here anymore, but still will be on other boards you might visit. When you're not sure, you make a guess, and if you're wrong you get corrected. No big deal usually, and anyone that gets uptight about it should consider a different name or adding such info to their signature.

I still have trouble remembering that Kater isn't male.

I guess she didn't know that her username means tomcat in German when she chose it.
