Default Skies of Pern: Local times

Ok, so I'm reading Skies of Pern for the first time. At the start of one of the chapters, F'nor and Canth are in the Harper Hall at Fort. They then travel to Southern Hold, without timing it.

At the start of the chapter, it says:

"Harper Hall, 5:00 in the morning, and Southern Hold, 2:00 in the morning..."

I thought Southern Hold was three hours to the east of Harper Hall. Therefore those times should be reversed. Am I right? Or did they time it, in contrast to what F'nor and Canth say? Or am I just bad at geography?

Yeah! 05.00 at Fort should equal 08.00 at Southern Weyr.

I guess before Aivas reinvented clocks for them, they just estimated by thinking, "It's well after dark here at Benden, it's got to be dusk at the Harper Hall." Not necessarily in so many words, but with the visualization. And the default is for the jump to be just physical, not temporal, so it requires distinct visualization to, say, jump back to a specific morning at Ruatha Hold.
