I'm the tv watcher in our house. My darling husband can't stand commercials and if he watches a show with me he takes the remote to change channels. Hasn't yet clicked that all the channels have commercials at the same time. By the time he's done, I've missed 10 minutes of what I was trying to watch in the first place.
![]() We both prefer older movies and end up doing a Tremors marathon or action of some sort. A chick flick girl I am NOT. ![]()

I was wondering about this thread, since you can't see anymore. Does AD really help? How about audio books and audio plays, I imagine that a blind person could get a lot of enjoyment out of those.

Sounds very familiar. I guess I'm spoiled, I pretty much only watch live sports and the news on TV, everything else we either stream or watch on DVD/blu-ray. We subscribe to HBO Nordic (soon HBO Max), Disney+ and Discovery+. That said, when I do watch broadcast TV, it's mostly our public broadcaster Yle, no commercials and quality programming.

Right now I'm watching the Olympics, since there's good coverage on Freeview this time around. But usually it's travel or history documentaries and nature programmes.

I don't watch television and rarely have a movie on. I spend most of my day in the living room sewing, occasionally watching the bird feeders. I deliberately have no tv in here because I find it distracting. I listen to a lot of nice, quiet CD's - mostly Mannheim Steamroller. My husband is just the opposite. He has the tv in the den/kitchen going all the time and mostly ignores it. To him it is background noise.

I've been watching Hell's Kitchen. The men's team started off really bad.
I've also been watching Chicago Fire. On Tuesdays ION has been doing all day marathons. I missed the first few seasons, so I'm catching up. I'm waiting impatiently for 9-1-1, 9-1-1 Lone star and the Rookie to come back on. When I was little my favorite TV show was Emergency.

My wife and I are watching Ted Lasso and Schmigadoon on Apple TV and I've been watching Bad Batch on Disney+.
I watched Spitfire not that long ago. Great movie. Mostly true from what I understand. It was a low budget British movie. My go to channel is TCM. I love old movies. Anything before the mid 60's. I love the low budget B&W character movies and the Technicolor widescreen epics. I just watched The Ten Commandments with my son (in 20 minute increments). But we are now on to Star Trek VI. We've been having fun with Harry Potter as well. We've done the first 4. We read (well, I read to him) the book and then watch the movie. It is fascinating to see what they change and why. But these later books are long and so we are on a break before starting book 5. |

I have all but given up on Broadcast TV, It seems like you get 20 min. of a show, shoved in between 40 min. of Ad's, At least on Streaming App's there is the option of skipping the ad's if they are about things you have no need or desire for. I can see where Ginnystar needs the programs to interact with other people, Audio books are great for personal pleasure, but would be of little to no use in an interactive session on line forums.

Well I have been watch/listening mostly to PBS Public Broadcast Service or listening to Country Gold Sat. Night via my Echo its, I had two good mega moves that they repeaded one was a lighthouse and the other was a coverebridge both moved via the same team, both Nova I think. I was v not in the best mood for listening f to them. the person and his team also moved a different lighthouse in Cape Hatteras the other one was Gay Head sp? I recall seeing him on NG Mega Movers doing that move I think, I am surprised what I do recall watching, a bit of this some of that and its ends up in a post here. XD LOL and ROLF at myself,, for I needed this.
By the way I don't mind if i what type of media its on ANY MEDIA is good to read, just one request if a image try and add a discription so we can 'see' it. I have not got the skills to get back and fore links yet, via keystrokes and JAWS = Jobs Access With Speach. ![]()
