Default F'lessan and Golanth

When I read Skies of Pern, in the scene where F'lessan and Golanth are trying to get in the air, I thought of the song "I believe I can fly". I don't know why Anne said F'lessan sings badly in Skies. I thought I'd read in People of Pern that F'lessan had a good singing voice!

I don't have People of Pern, but checked The Dragonlovers's Guide to Pern, and couldn't find anything about F'lessan singing.

If there was a reference to him singing as a child, his singing voice may not have survived puberty.

F'lar's father, Falloner (who became F'lon) was one of Merelan's singing students at Benden Hold as a child. He was F'lessan's grandfather.

I do have Skies of Pern somewhere and only read it once when it came out but I am due for a second time, and will try to pay attention for your question.

I'm referring to after they heal from their injuries. When they are trying to get back in the sky! In Dragon Drums, it would have been interesting if Piemur's voice had not survived puberty!

I don't think Piemur ever sang solo in public again. He could join the chorus and accompany songs on guitar or drums.

Correct, his soloist career was over when his voice broke, and was why he was sent to the Drums tower, because first off, when he started having troubles his voice hadn't stabilized and he needed another outlet and Robinton had wanted to have him in a profession that he could use him as a useful asset to helping further the security of Pern, and secondly, after his voice had stabilized, after his experiences in the Southern Continent, and being so isolated for so long, he had little desire or need to cater to having the masses praise him for how his voice sounded, he had learned to be more self-sufficient in his self-esteem.

Right The MasterHarper of Pern, and recall that you have to take some of the ref. books with a grain of salt, In All the Weyrs of Pern, he sings with Masterharper Robinton , and as for F'lessan , I also recall before he had his dragon, he tried his best to get out of lelessons,, and have the most fun. But after he impressed his dragon , he took on a more careful roal , to protect both himsseelf and his dragon, I think AtWoP was muy ref, during his looking for new Weyrs and finding Honshu
