New MoM playground?

Long, long ago Hans posted a picture of a building in Europe that had decorative scrollwork that seemed to spell MOM, and we (we being the forum members at that time) decided to virtually appropriate it as our headquarters, and generally goofed off pretending we had a building. The picture is gone, but here's the thread we played in.

Then we decided to appropriate an island.

And then more islands, but I'm not sure where they are, perhaps hiding in the original thread which is many pages long.

And then we had a secret headquarters building.

And now finally, the point of this post, is I have a new location for us to consider annexing into our pretend MoM empire.



This is Porto Flavia on the island of Sardinia in Italy, and it clearly has the makings of a proper Pernese Hold. In actuality it is used as a port to deliver quarried rock to boats, but surely we could pretend much more fun things for it? Anyone want to second my motion to annex it into our virtual empire?

PS I am a Master Potter M in Star Rise Wyer , just before I losevery thing so I tryied to use this as a setup for a stalled out bit, that I tried to type up that didn't work quite as I wanted, and I am drawing on myown gift, from my former boyfriend , the crafter Potter made the mugs, and the clientglazed them, before they werefired, so I amtrying to blend the two here, I am not happy with what Ihad type, up but, I thought someone would like refreshments while we waited.

I would use the icons but I haven't tgot the hang of the coding yet. : I also have a idea branch ing off this one, for a meeting place too, but haven';tt written it out yet, This is part of the idea the Star Trek CaptainsTable ? Ginny - I'm sorry for not thinking to include an image description. Here you go:

Both images are very similar, just taken from different angles and elevations, so this description works for both. Images show a large rocky outcrop that is buff and tan in color, and probably a few hundred feet wide and couple hundred high, which rises from aqua/teal colored waters. At the protruding corner of the outcrop, on the side not the top, is a three-story stone building with a large open archway flanked by several smaller arched windows to the right, and the building is inscribed with the words "Porto Flavia". The building is mostly inset into the rock, with the facade and a small tower protruding. There is a small flat landing in front of the large archway, with a steel fence around it. A stone/brick staircase rises from the top left of the building (tower is on the right) which angles back and forth up the outcrop, finally reaching a landing with a small entrance into the overhanging rock. A few more windows are near the top of the staircase, set into a rough stone wall. There are a scrubby green plants around, growing haphazardly from the rock.

From the description, I hope you can tell that it sounds very much like a Pernese Hold. It is the perfect protected spot for scared holders to hide from Threadfall - although they need to get rid of that greenery!

My understanding of how it was used is that the processed rock and ore was brought out of the large archway on railway tracks while cargo ships parked in the deep waters next to it for loading. There is a nice article about it on Wikipedia.

It reminds me of Petra but more grey than the red sandstone. It also looks like a great pirate hideaway. I agree and wish to add a few magic touches if I may? A library that always has the book(s) you want right in front so they are easy to find. A chair that is always the right distance from the fireplace to be the perfect temp and a table that always has the drink and snack of your choice ready.

That is what I was thinking, of there was is a NOVA from PBS that shows how to do it,, s and a recreated on somewhere in CA I wish I was much betteat posting my thoughts for my comprehension is better then my grammer,, and speeling, but I do do love to bake even if I can't see or have the space to do it, , right now I have a the platter a and mugs a and jugs, wanting to be made, I can make good, baking power biskets I don't know the UK call them,, not the Cookies/biskets type, won First Place Open Class afair, and Made it to State level indidn't get a rgold but that was fun, my dad tought me how too, long story on that one, related to my mom too, which on this day I am missing her , her brother and gramother her mom too,
All of them is why my dad had to teach me how to make them. I do know how to make other type of cookies, not pies, or pastry mymy dad's comes out better then mind,

So If you would like something special let me read the how to, I do make Cake t Our state berry the crandberry or cherry cake, would be one I can make,. or Cupcakes which are easier to makeTropical nuts, I can' can't handle them in real life, and I rather not if I don't have to, or hazelnuts or coconuts got it right, I am sorry, I am trying to get back a few ones that I have lost, and sometimes you Momers and other from our former sister sites have had a few good ide ideas, 'taking my viser and running' LOL

But leaving Crannberry cake as cupcakes and cherries cake as cupccakes, and a llarge Jug of apple cider to go with then, or tea , ccoffee, or kkklah, with clean cups and full sugar and creamer, and hot water for tea, forgets to add the hot coco too, and leaves, a Jar of Ea Earl Gray behind, one tea, I like but the oil in it don't like me.


Then Does thcleans up after heherself, and leaves, to check on the clay studieo, this idea has been ppopping up in my mind wanted it be finishing it, need to get my files put where they are needed. Been listening too long not working,, on stuff, but then I still can't tell what I saved or transfered over from my files at the momoment., its just like a blank set of shelfs waitng for I to put my spin on it. Well, I would not like to see aour new place look lik li don't ccare, so I made the miss so I cleaned it up, And from my baking too,, or I would not be able to get anything else done, habit even here.

Also I recall a time in Dragonseye/Red Star Rising DE/RSR that some one eeelse did the cleaning and made sure their was everying thing for a change of teaching at the Collage, so I thought having everything ready for the next poster wwwho wanted a food and drink, note I am not looking for that spot I am just ffilling in a need here, For if ou wanted something s stronger I don't have that much background in that. Even if I know how homemade wine is made for my dad's mawater melon out of my first place open classSugar Babys from my fair days, same years as I wond the other ribbins below, I am only drawing on my own personal background to create this and the other post, I am quite happy about that for my melon was as big as a blowing ball, nex one was the size of a softball. I do recall after how did I grow it, or did I buy it, nope grew it, with a lot of pushing around my dcacartback in and out of our garage b and making sure they were get ting the wwater they needed, and helping my dad when I could to enrish the soil with river mmuck, af when the water was really low one year we got most of tiit done, not the area near the road, but that the way iit work, Lots of hard work, that year, and we got a lot of good stuff out of their most years,

The library is magic, as indeed all libraries are, and cleans itself. Books will put themselves away and the fire will bank itself. Used cups and plates will whisk themselves into the dishwasher until the next person enters the library.

TThat is good, but still I am not trying out for that post, I am just 'fillong' in a need.

And trying out a few ideas that have popop up as possable baking for more then a small batch at a time, and or picking your minds for the right type of pan, or dish, spelling myself I am country gal, thatneeds to live in a ccity that has the s support I need. Or a good discription o on one.


I think I have only seen one that was a round one a spring pan, the one were you can take the ring off like its holder reminds me of what you put nedlecraft in, I wonder do if they make a spring-form pan, got it right this time, in a rectangle as large as a sheet cake,/?

I was thinking of something on the order of a yellow or white, base or even choclet . with chocolate chips, walnuts, cherries that you find mix drinks, or kiddy cocktails ra , and dried banana slices , or chips, something on the order of a christmas ffruit cake, but not with the candied fruit in it, but for more then one,
Ice ccrean your pick, chocolate , carmal , and whomemade whippe topping , and ch chchch cherries on top,

Just thought of adding dried or freshed fruit strawberries, blueberries, other mixsed berries., too.
Sowhat would you thingkk, @ Mawa or aanyone commining up with a birthday or a special ocation ? I am just asking?

I do have a short storie ideas, a few I should say, but right now I need to do some reviewing of how to run my computer better then I hope to be better at posting stuff, S And be able save new works, which is giving me a ton of problems. I have only seen round springform pans. Some are quite shallow for flans and tarts, while mine are about 4 inches high.

I may have to add music to the library, if you sit quiet to read you can sometimes hear the books whispering and giggling to each other as they share their stories. Maybe, let me think, got it. Just ask a music book to play for you and the music of your choice will come on. As most books are polite, the others will hush while the music plays.

How true, as long as its not a script like the musical Dragonsongs that SSJack put on, which I wish to put on here, or make shure its one that don';t over a audio discription of something, which is called image discription, Which movie am I thinking of Oh Fantasia which has the music playing.


Or just some instermental group like The MsasterHarper of Pern or SunSet's Gold or Manhime Steamroller as a an idea.

The library has told me there was a recent addition. Sneaky place that it is. Way in the backroom a computer has appeared. When asked politely it will give you access to all the archived or files long thought lost of the many sites dedicated to Anne and her books. For example if you ask it about Anne and her visits to the KT chatroom, it's there. You can read it for yourself, or the computer will read to you. *pats the computer* such a clever thing, yes you are.

I hope so, this computer a new lap top,, is quiter
then the last one,, but, has more memory, this Spring like
storm in Winter Dec. has prvented my staff and
his driver to get to me, they got more damage, like
I said else were, the high winds, even effected
us here, I hope the person who is helping me to my dr. apointment
can tell me,, our parking lot, is safe for my dad and my kin,
for pick up on the weekend, going to try and get my
fflu shot, and see about the booster , , my anxity
is a bit hight, someone didn't know they had a sign
pole stuck to teir car and my staff got their just fix
truck bbummper cought,, good it wasn't their new
one, my dad has a truck too, so I am going to wait
to see if overnight they can get things clean ed up.
