NKT & MoM Halloween & Harvest Gather 2009 - A Meeting of Minds

Yup, getting off to a slow start organizing it this year.

Since it's usually the last Sunday before Halloween...The Gather will be held on October 26th. Probably at the usual park in Anahiem. More on that from MHB as she is the one who handles the site.

As usual I will be the grillmaster. Not sure what we're having yet, but there's plenty of possiblities including the shrimp done on sprigs of rosemary.

Please sign up regarding attending, how many people and what you will bring.

Probably won't be a quiz this time...but might be some games.

White Elephant gift exchange, and I'll bring the bag of paints if anyone wants to paint pumpkins.

Costumes encouraged but not mandatory.

SEVENTEEN DAYS to go!
. . Got lovely fall tablecovers that will cover both Halloween and the Harvest portion of the gather. So looking forward to this time away from the house. And it is the Sunday before Halloween whatever the date may be. ( I know for a long time I thought it was the 30th because halloween was Monday. Looking at wrong calender will do that to you.)
. . Don't know if Dad is up to going this year, but I will still be doing set up. May have to leave to go back home to get him set for the day, but that's nothing new for us.
. . How does everyone feel about Chocolate Fangs?

Tomorrow is going to be a nice day, and it shouldn't be too bad even if it does hit the 90's. At least by the lake we get a good cool breeze. (Hopefully just cool enough that Sharon does not over heat.) I have drawn Sharon what I hope will be a fitting symbol of her ranking as Master Grillchef. Provided I get it painted in time, I may even get it framed for her. (That is a big maybe right now.)

Crystal spoke with Dena a short while ago and Boaz has a fever of 100.3 degrees. So unless it breaks tonight she may not be coming tomorrow. He seems alright otherwise, so it may not be the flu. Still, she doesn't want to take any chances with anyone else's health till she's sure. Let's cross our fingers and hope it's something minor that she doesn't need to worry about.

Leaving now with what i have to take to set up. If I need anything else I'll get it after Crystal, Chris, and Laura get there. I'm on ER Run since I have to come home and take care of Dad when he wakes up. Got to get Ice and drinks.
Hope everything is OK with Dena and the boys (all of them). Crystal is in shower right now, getting ready to fetch our friends.

Well the ER run was made by me this year, for salad fruit dressing hotdog buns mustard and dressing. (Dena decided that since Boaz's fever came back again she wouldn't take any chances and bring the boys to the gather.) Didn't get a whole lot of pictures myself, as I was on Dad clean up and ER run, but did get a few good ones of the Giant Jenga games. Had several of them this time. Oh and never look at Crystal and say "Bite me" when she has her fangs on! And Sharon showed her support for Laura by getting her hair cut off. So pass the sun screen girls.!

Just now downloading them to Flickr site. Have fun!
