I did have fun!!!! They were holiday dragons from previous years!! I even have 2 from this year!!

I don't know if many know who she is but the Actor/Comedienne Betty White has died at 99. She was a favorite on The Golden Girls and many other shows. I hope she rests well and keeps up the laughter! 😍

They broke the news of her passing during a news show. The actually interrupted the presenter to announce it.

She will be missed.

Currently we're in day 8 of a serious cold snap. -35 with a wind chill of -45. One day Alberta had 8 of the 10 coldest places on the planet. It was actually 9 of 10 as one place in the U.S. was a computer glitch. The weather should warm up to about -5 for the weekend and then the bottom drops out again. I really hope it does warm up as our hot tub has a leak and we have to get it drained.

Years ago, I would go to church for watch night on New Year's Eve, but the last few years, it's gotten too dangerous to be outside!!! Watch night dates back to when the black slaves in the South would wait and pray on New Year's eve waiting for the Emancipation Proclamation to go into effect!!

My husband and I go for a walk down a wooded dead end street with a few houses every day. There is a pond part way down that I have joked about the alligator that lives in there. Yesterday the police in our town "rescued" a 4 foot alligator and took it to an aquarium. I have no idea what part of town it was found in, there for I will "claim" it was in our "walk pond!"**The thinking on the news is that someone had it as a pet (which is illegal) and it got too big to handle so they put it outside which is a cruel thing to do as it would die of the cold. I hope they find out who the owner was and set a very heavy fine!

I think I might have the flu!! I have body aches, headache, no appetite!!

I'm glad I'm in Virginia, not Canada. Its been in the upper 50s during the day & 40s at night.
Kibby was a brat last night. She took my orange kitten, Asil, along with her two black ones upstairs. Leaving my gray one, Jessie, down stairs, without her favorite playmate & cuddle buddy. She wouldn't bring him back down. Which meant Jessie wanted me to play & cuddle with all night.
Kibby got sent home from work, again, because of shoulder pain. I really hope ortho can do something for her on Tuesday. Work has been very understanding.

Bad storms are supposed to move through my area tonight and tomorrow!! Gonna charge my tablet before they hit!!!! It's just a cold I have!!

Even if you charge your tablet if the power goes out you won't have internet. At least that is how mine works. It is "connected" wirelessly to the house internet which goes "out" if we lose power. I suppose if you have books loaded on yours you can read them if the tablet is charged. I hope the storms miss you.

Ours will not go out if the power goes out. We still have DSL, It gets it's power thru the phone line. when the phone goes out, we will lose internet, but as most phone lines are underground, it rarely happens. We will lose the wireless part but the computers connected with an ethernet cable are still good to go.

I have some games on my tablet I can play if/when I lose internet connection!!!! Thanks for the sentiment!!! I didn't lose the internet connection!!!

Our son just read his first English chapter book, one of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid books, in a couple hours and in one sitting. He’s 12, in 6th grade (1st grade starts the year the kid turns 7 here), and has been learning English since 2nd grade. He watches a lot of videos on YouTube in English, and it shows. I’m so proud of him!

Haha, they ar accumulating in our house. Our gvernment gave everybody 2 for free but our emplyers also give them out regularly. We're still in lockdown (officially until January 14) here in the Netherlands. so, working from home.
Will be going to work tomorrow though, to get the booster jab.

I got 2 shots last year!! Do I need a third??? Dislike getting poked!!

The news has been yelling for months that everyone should get a third dose of vaccine. We got ours in early October (about 6 months after our second dose).

It's been all over the news since about last May. Basically as soon as the second doses had been given to a fair number of people they began saying a third dose was needed.

I got mine in November. They said I needed to wait 6 months after the second shot for the virus.

Didn't know that!! While I was in the hospital and rehab facility, I don't recall hearing about it!! And I was watching Fox 5 news!!

You weren't in the hospital from May to December, were you? This has been all over the news and social media for many months. Anyway, you know now and can decide to get it or not.

Hubby and I both have our booster shot.

It did warm up (if a few degrees below freezing can be considered warm) just long enough to get the tub drained. He hooked up a small pump to a hose running through a window and draining into the bathtub. It was pretty slow though so he and our eldest ended up having to bail out the last 15 gallons or so. Then the shop vac to blow out the circulation system. Now it's just wait for spring and then we have to decide if we want to pay a min of $1000 to have somebody come out and try to find and fix the leak.

Our daughter and Mike got a hot tub late summer. I have not asked how often they use it. Did you use yours a lot and did you use it all winter? I can't imagine being in one if the air temperature was -30 C! 😨

At a cost of $1000 to maybe fix it that seems like a lot but not the $5000 or so for a brand new one. Decisions!

Missed my doctor's appointment!! It was at 9:15!! Gotta try to reschedule it!!

You could probably hunt up a third vaccine dose while you organize a new doctor appointment. Lots of pharmacies seem to be doing it.

The staff at the doctor's office is looking into setting up a new appointment and booster shot!! My new appointment is January 18 @ 4 pm!!! Got the appointment written on the calendar!!

It was 70f here Saturday. Snow, ice and Temps in the 20s. No wonder my sinuses are killing me. A lot of people lost power, luckily we did not.
None of our critters were impressed by the cold wet stuff. For a change all cats were inside for most of the day.
