Yay for you! I used to love his stuff, particularly the Xanth books, but they got a little too "punny" for me

I just finished, Demons Don't Dream, (1st ed., 1993) last night. I enjoyed it - not a favorite of the series, but still fun. I agree that the newer ones aren't as good. I still like to go back and reread the older ones. I particularly like, A Spell for Chameleon, and, Harpy Thyme, among others.

I had first read Nightmare then had to go back and pick up the series . . . in bits and pieces . . . why is it that I get into a series in the middle?

The first nine or so Xanth books, before he felt he had to use every reader suggestion for a pun, puns that came in huge clusters that brought books to a grinding halt and contributed nothing to the plot (give me an actual obstacle or problem, not a 'comic strip'), and just the fact that the puns were getting less and less funny/clever. A Spell for Chameleon will remain a favorite. His Incarnations series is also wonderful.

Never been a fan of formalized puns, so took a bye on reading Xanth. I did enjoy the Incarnations books, although I felt Under a Velvet Cloak went just a bit too far. Actually I rather enjoyed Macroscope, now that I think about it, I think I'll hunt down my copy.

That post by Bardmaiden was made in January 2005, Lanen, and it says inactive under her name. I think she hasn't visited this board a long time...
I also think she didn't mean to say that Anthony wrote anything in the Adept series, just that she liked the series. Which brings me to the question you were going to ask Deborah for me: WHEN may we expect something new in this series? Five books isn't nearly enough!
