Melissa got a phone call yesterday, from Emmi's school principal. When she call the school she thought she was talking to the principal, she was talking to the assistant principal.

The principal call, apologized for the whole thing. She also said the teacher and assistant principal would be written up. That they both know to never go against a Dr. note again. and even said that if the teacher had problems with Emmi she would changer her classroom.

Melissa is pleased that she called and has decided not to take the matter further. The important thing is that it not happen again.

You have a way better chance of winning. I can't remember a huge jackpot ticket ever being sold in New England. I think it's because fewer tickets overall get sold here.

If I won that kind of money I would buy a small house on the CT shoreline with a little beach and no neighbors anywhere near. This would really be for all of us, I can't actually think of anything I want just for myself.

Someone once scolded me for throwing out a Publishers Clearing House sweepstakes form. I said, "I don't to sweepstakes or lotteries." She said, "But maybe God wants you to have this money and provided this means for you to get pig." I said," If God wants me to have that kind of money, He'll find another way to get it to me, because God knows I don't do sweepstakes and lotteries."

I have a few times bought lottery tickets but since I never even got one number correct I long ago decided to keep my money for myself. With those odds you could get as much satisfaction taking a match to your money! I love your answer!

My sisters and I send lottery tickets to each other for birthdays. Don't know why, I'm sure, they rarely win anything. But oh! The excitement when sister announces she won $25!!!! Yay!

We have one sends out posh brochures about a new house in a popular holiday area with tickets $25. Well, good cause and all (heart foundation), I'd give them $10 but not $25 (On a pension), - and what on earth would I do with a new house miles away anyway!

At least two winning tickets were sold, one in California and one in Atlanta. Hey, I have cousins in Atlanta. I wonder what the "odds" are that THEY won?! Some MoM members live in California. If anyone comes through the "door" in a new mink coat, dripping with diamonds it's a sure "bet" they won!

Yeah stinkin' Buckhead... one of the richer sections of Atlanta. Wasn't even at a store but a newstand in an office building.

We bought a ticket in GA (at work) a person in SC wins. We bought them at home (SC) SOMEONE IN ga WINS

I figure it was $5 from a $30 winning scratch ticket. I need to scan the ticket to see if 2 numbers pays anything (plus I have another scratch ticket that payed out. So far, I should play Hoosier, not Michigan. Never had a scratch ticket from MI pay, so far I've won $32 from Indiana.)

Everyone's been busy.

The boys are on Winter break but I have two more days so tomorrow a good friend is picking them up. I told her she has my permission to put them to work. Micah's so happy to be on winter break he has given me kisses and hugs without asking. I'm half suspect he's up to something.

Two weeks ago I moved 500 odd miles south. Yesterday evening I found out that we're going to have to move house again sometime between now and March. Turns out the landlord of the house we're currently renting along with friends doesn't want to renew the lease at the end of its term because they want to sell the place.

Gaaaaahhh...Don't want to move house again!

Guess on the plus side, I'm already mostly packed!

So now starts the frantic search for a place...Nice Christmas gift that...

That is not nice at all, but I guess the landlord's prerogative. I hope you find someplace soon. Not much point in unpacking anything else! When you moved I am guessing there was no indication from the landlord that they were not planning to renew the lease?

With the holidays upon us I would like to share a personal experience
with my family & friends about drinking and driving. As you may know
some of us have been known to have brushes with the authorities from
time to time on the way home after a "social session" out with friends.
Well, three days ago I was out for an evening with friends and had
several cocktails, followed by some rather nice red wine. Feeling jolly
I still had the sense to know that I may be over the limit. That's when
I did something that I've never done before ... I took a cab home! Sure
enough on the way home there was a police road block, but since it was a
cab they waved it past. I arrived home safely without incident. This was
a real relief and surprise because I had never driven a cab before. I
don't even know where I got it and now that it's in my garage I don't
know what to do with it!!!

......And if you believe the above story is true, I have some wonderful seafront property in Iowa I'll sell you, very reasonably!

Zelandeth, that's an awful surprise to be sprung on you! I hope you'll find a nice place soon, one that is even better than the one you initially chose and now have to leave, assuming you did have a choice in the matter.

Zelandeth: don't you have an "Assured Short Term Tenancy" agreement?

A number of landlords will sell a place with tenants in place, since that means that the new owners will start collecting rent from day 1 rather than having to wait till new tenants move in.

The news is saying that part of the ceiling in the Apollo Theatre in London has collapsed during a show. It is early yet but I'm afraid it sounds like there were a number of injuries.

They were just talking about it on the news. They did not know much

The authorities are looking at freak weather as a cause.

There's an existing lease contract in progress which comes to its natural end in March (14th I think), I've moved in as an additional tenant partway through that contract. We've basically just been given the heads up that it won't be getting extended as we'd hoped.

We've got an appointment with a mortgage advisor tomorrow, so we'll hopefully know how much we have to play with by the end of that. We've got a few houses shortlisted, including a couple of pretty nice ones (the fact that we've got three people in the household in work, two of them in pretty decently paid jobs at that, does come in handy at times like this). Until we know for certain what we've got to work with though it's hard to know what to look for.

Current front runner is this one, though it's pretty much right at the top end of what we're expecting our budget to be unless we get a really good surprise tomorrow! Seems worth stretching for a little at least, especially given that the location is perfect for our needs given where everyone works. Certainly is a place I'd be proud to call home anyway...Did I mention that I very nearly went down the route of training to become an architect when I came out of school before going down the engineering route?

...Personally I'd rather have something that it's in the back end of beyond, but that's just me and I know that there are practical considerations to that which would drive everyone else in the house mad!

Back when I could drive, I was always the designated driver, but my friends always said I could get drunk on root beer and then be sober enough to drive them home. I always replied, "And I can remember ll the stupid stuff you did."

Thank stinks about the landlord but the house you are looking at is beautiful.

I made it through the last week of class. My most emotional and aggressive student attached a different person each week along with numerous students except today. Yesterday was my turn. At one point, she was swinging the microwave cord attempting to hit me with it. I wanted to laugh and say, "Really". Instead I kept my face stoic because she desires a reaction. I've 3 weeks to prepare for the next 6 months with her. She attempted to chock her last teacher. She'll hug you one minute then attack you the next. On the positive side my principal told her mom that she needs to get her the right help because if she keeps it up she'll expel her.

My 14 year old is so happy to be on break, he has willingly offered me hugs and kisses.

We leave tomorrow for five days with my mom.

Just got back from taking Kibby and Mom to Trekie Christmas party. Tammy, Robin and Madison was suppose to go. But Emmi came home from school sick Thurs. Tammy got dizzy and could not drive (she has dizzy spells) so Melissa took back to her house. So Tammy got, along with Melissa, Matt (Melissa's B.F.), and Seth. Since Robin, who was at Melissa, & Madison were exposed it was decided it would be better if they stayed home.

The funny thing is Tammy has been saying she does not get sick. She has been saying it for years. So now that she has came down with the same puking thing the others have we are of coursing giving her a hard time.
