So, I have this very talented wife who makes amazing crochet creations. One of her current projects is a commission from my sister of a Star Wars 'graphgan' blanket that is turning out a little something like this...
![]() Each picture is its own little graph that she is taking from this pattern HERE. For example the pattern for the At-At looks like this... ![]() Now, I was wondering, are there 25 or so images that sum up the many worlds that Anne created, that could be translated into a pattern like that. The graph can actually be any size, but Tat thinks that sticking with the 30x30 format works well, both for finished appearance and her sanity for making the images. Anyone got any good ideas, or for that matter, any one with an eye for these things fancy having a go at making a pattern. On top of turning the image into a 30x30 grid, there also needs to be some thought put into using a fairly linted amount of colours for each image. Simon |

That's amazing! Over the years I have used a program to create a few cross stitch patterns of some of Anne's book covers. I did one of the Ship books for a member here. I've got a couple others that I did "just to try" that I never ended up doing anything with once I finished sewing them. I have no idea what would look good but I am sure you'll come up with something special!

You could use the Hold wapens. You can find some in the Dragonlover's guide to PERN. I know I have seen them somewhere on internet too. (but I can't remember where

I think mara means Pernese coats of arms for the different Holds and Weyrs. This sounds like a good idea to me, as the symbols would be relatively simple. Simon, do you have The Dragonlover's Guide to Pern? You could add a few rank knots as well to make it interesting.

My daughter does cross-stitch and just finished a scene for my wife, She used some kind of special knot that made the surface raised so there was an actual texture to the finished piece. Wonder if something like that would be doable (or even desirable) for crocheting?

There are textured crochet stitches. Cables, for one. Right now I'm making an afghan with shells on every 6th row, which are made to pop out a bit because the next row only uses one of the two loops at the top of the shells.
