Thanks! The framing job was also excellent. I'll be taking her more things to do. I have a dragon picture I made for our son that I want to give him for Christmas. That has metallic thread and seed beads as part of the overall picture.

I do think I have a lot of patience but I don't think this really requires much (if any) talent. I don't do anything except follow a pattern. Yes, the end result looks nice but none of it came out of my head, like Maelin's beautiful art or the jewelry Draco has been making. Those take time and talent. However, I thank all of you for the complements and yes, I'm sure my kids will enjoy hanging them!

Thanks for the compliment, Priscilla. But I think there's talent there. It's just differently defined. It takes more than patience to follow a pattern that precisely. I know, from doing the scroll saw pictures I make. What you make takes precise stitching, which is something not everyone can do, I know. My mother does cross stitch, and my sister can't.

What you make is very nice artwork. It's more than pretty colors sewn onto a pattern. The attention to detail makes it art, pure and simple.

I have that dragon picture at the framers at the moment. When it's done I'll take pictures. I actually hope the tablecloth will get eaten off of! I did one tablecloth for our kitchen table and this one is for the dining table. One will someday go to our daughter and the other to our son. I hope they'll use the cloths on holidays and if a spot gets on them I don't think it's that important. I'd rather they got used! We have a cloth that my aunt made us as a wedding present. I use it on Thanksgiving and Christmas. It does have a few stains on it but whenever we use it it reminds me of aunt Ruth.

Nice table cloth, Priscilla.

My parents made a table cloth using fabric paint for my grandmother. It had all the kids and grandkids listed on it, each family also had a flower with it. When my grandmother died we got it back. Now we use on special occasions as way to represent Dad, who died in '81.

That's a lovely idea! Another possibility that I have seen done at daycares where I used to work would be to do a handprint of each person beside their name with the fabric paint. Probably not something you would want to do now, though. I think handmade items are wonderful gifts. They represent time and thought by the giver and not just a random outlay of money.

Here is the latest framed cross stitch. I'm sorry about the quality of the photo, it is not easy with the glass on the picture. The mat is a lovely deep purple, which does not really show.

The next piece I'm getting framed is my own "copy" of the portion of Moreta that Jeff and I brought over to you. I have just the spot picked out to hang it, in the living room on the wall where I can see it while I sew on something new!

Sometimes I think it would be fun to enter something in a local Fair. Then I worry about what if it got lost, stolen or damaged? The possible chance of a ribbon isn't worth the risk to me. I don't do it as a business so there's no real reason for anyone but friends and family to see what I make.

I've sort of branched out into needlepoint. You can buy various size items that have "blank" fabric on the front and zip up to make a bag. Some are quite small and meant to be change purses and some could be used for ebook cases. For the fun of it I transferred a picture of Grumpy Cat and friend to a case that is supposed to be for cosmetics, about 8 inches wide by 6 inches high. I'm not as happy with Grumpy's colors as his friends but it was fun making it anyway. No idea what I'll do with it.

I finished this as a wall hanging for our daughter and Mike. Then I sent it to Aranel and she outlined the whole dragon in metallic thread, added a border and quilted it, making what was a nice piece into something truly spectacular. Thanks to her, it's now an heirloom!
