My favorite movie of all time is a Man for All Seasons with Paul Scofield. It's about Sir Thomas More and Henry VIII. Great movie.
For a more recent favorite, Walk The Line, about Johnny Cash. |

I saw King Kong last December, and LOVED it. I loved it so much, in fact, that I bought the soundrack and ordered the movie. The animation of Kong and the dinosaurs and those creepy giant insects is phenomenal.

I like a lot of the ones mentioned already. A couple not mentioned that I suppose are favorites -- since I could watch them over and over and not tire of them -- are The Saint and the second Mission Impossible.

How about the "The 13th Warriior", I have been watching it today, while I work. I love how he learns to talk to the vikings(but it is a little bloody).

Lord of the Rings, and the extended versions are 100 times better than the original ones shown in theaters.
Star Wars, especially episodes 3-6 (ROTS redeemed the PT in my book). Apollo 13 The Abyss X-men (can't wait for #3) Dirty Dancing 1 (the sequel sucked big time) Don't Say A Word Crimson Tide Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon A Walk on the Moon (I've seen all of the above, except CTHD, at least twice.)

Gettysburg...has an extended cut....? Really? Oh dear. *must not go running off to Amazon, must not go running off to Amazon....*
Limiting this to movies I could just watch over and over and over again, in no particular order: Star Wars (original triology) Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade Raiders of the Lost Ark Ice Princess The Cutting Edge From the Earth to the Moon (you can keep LOTR, I will watch all twelve hours of FtEttM over and over and over until I started wearing out the VHS copies) Persuasion Sense and Sensibility Spirited Away Gettysburg (except for the giant rotting squirrel carcass that is Martin Sheen's abysmal performance as Robert E. Lee--Robert Duval in "Gods and Generals" PWNED that part, which is no surprise as he's a Lee on his mother's side) Apollo 13 Secondhand Lions (woefully underrated) My Neighbor Totoro (I have NO IDEA why) Bon Voyage, Charlie Brown/What Have We Learned, Charlie Brown? (Two separate specials, really, but they pair up) Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon Escanaba in Da Moonlight (if you have to ask, you won't get it) Let It Ride Shirley Valentine My Big Fat Greek Wedding Millenium Actress The Black Stallion (even if the book is about a million times better) |

My favorite movies...
At the top are: Flight of the Navigator Star Trek (all 10; 4 and 9 are my top 2) Star Wars (all 6; 3 and 6 my top 2) Babylon 5 (TV Movies; all; In the Beginning my top favorite) FarScape: Peacekeeper Wars (haven't seen it yet, but I'm sure I'll love it) Dragonheart Dragonheart: A New Beginning Dinotopia Dinosaur Other favorites include: Ice Age Ice Age: The Meltdown (just saw it yesterday) all Pixar movies Zeus and Roxanne Serenity "Crocodile" Dundee (all) Lord of the Rings (Peter Jackson's 3 only) Back to the Future (all) Stargate Shrek Shrek 2 There are more, but that's all for now. Spaceman Spiff: It's okay. I'll also admit that I like Titanic. It is a good movie with great direction and music. And the idea of a fictional story set in midst of a real-life tragedy is a good concept.

Hey, if it's longer than the DVD version, and I can find it on eBay, I can watch it when I'm home. Is it different than the DVD? (Yes, we have a laserdisc player. Not that we use it often.)

Hehe, yup! I don't keep up with figure skating anymore, since skates for guys are hard to come by and EXPENSIVE when I do see them, and women's skates just don't fit right... but I do love watching skating, and it's a great pleasure to see a movie like this with a decent plot that doesn't take all the predictable turns.
