I'm not sure it's pumpkin vines you shouldn't touch. Google had a video of someone trimming a pumpkin vine with clippers and holding the vine with the other hand.

Tahoes are a huge vehicle, must not get great gas mileage. However, if it's paid off I guess it is worth it. We did that with our 15 year old Mazda6, kept it when we got a new Honda Accord last year....
