Re: Domick, Petiron, Music on Pern
Some music pieces are quite humable (I'm not sure that's a word, but whatever), for example Vltava, and Valses Poeticos (by Enrique Granados, if anyone's interested). Maybe with the reintroduction of...

Re: Domick, Petiron, Music on Pern
True enough. Thanks for the insight. There are lots of solo pieces by classical composers however, but then again, I suppose it takes months of practice to perfect such pieces, and the people of Pern...

Domick, Petiron, Music on Pern
I don't know if this gets to anyone else, but I've noticed that Domick and Petiron seem under-appreciated on Pern. I swear everyone just prefers simplistic pop-songs. Being a classical music lover...

Going between on the ground
Throughout the Pern books, the dangers of going between too low, or going between on the ground are constantly reiterated. What do you think would happen if someone did? Would they take a piece of...

Re: Timing it
The extension on the post (which I deleted now, having started a new thread for it), was about why Golanth bothered to time it back a few seconds to avoid the tsunami. I think he could have just done...

Re: Skies of Pern (again)
So I've read on a bit further now, and found out that when Ramoth saved Golanth, the stunt was similar to his own at Cliffside (the timing one that has me confused). Ramoth jumped back in time a...

Re: Skies of Pern (again)
I'll quote out of the book if that helps:
"He saw the cliff looming up: if the tsunami didn't drown them, they'd smash against the cliff. Having slowed to catch Binness, Golanth did not have enough...

Skies of Pern (again)
I know. Another new thread. I promise I'm not spamming. What I was wondering is, how exactly does Golanth use timing in Skies of Pern to save F'lessan and Binness? It looked to me like a normal...

Timing it
Ok, so I posted an extension on my last thread, about Golanth rescuing Binness, and the timing that went on. I was wondering... Does timing mess anyone else's head up? The minute I read the words...

Skies of Pern: Local times
Ok, so I'm reading Skies of Pern for the first time. At the start of one of the chapters, F'nor and Canth are in the Harper Hall at Fort. They then travel to Southern Hold, without timing it.
At...
