AnnMarie, why did you do that to your self?

I hope summer is cooler then spring has been. It is way to hot for this time of the year.
We normally we don't get temps in the 90s until July.

Because there were only TWO of us left at all. All the other mothers involved in the middle school PTO will be part of the HIGH SCHOOL PSTO come this fall.

Re: What is happening

I guess that would be a good reason. Have you got any ideas for the upcoming year?

If you need any program sugestions I have one. I don't know if you have ever heard of Escape School or not. The people who run it will teach kids how to escape or prevent being taken. It is a good program with a lot of good info. they do it in such a way that it does not scare the kids. It teaches them to beaware of their surroundings. Kibby went to on at the local library. It is ran through a funneral home. If you are intrested I will see if I can find out more info for you.

Somehow, I am not sure it would fly, but send me the info anyhow, Mawra

I recall something too, that might be of aid, right now my sight isn't good for reading, my yearbooks and or newspapers, but I do recall a few other programs, that might help out.

@ AnnMarie and others.

Funnest thing happened last night.
I had Aries (goat) loose, he was on the front porch, one of the cats was on the porch rail. Aries reached up and grabbed her tail in his mouth and jurked. You have never seen a cat move so fast.

Looks like a good program, Mawra, but geared for younger kids. The Babysitting course is very similar to the Red Cross Babysitting class. But thanks for looking it up for me!

AS for Aries and the cat.... sneaky sod of a goat you've got there.:fiend:

I might have an idea or two, but with the links mix up its going to take time to dig it out. by the way how big is your group, and I might have something related to my own background. http://www.fbla.org/web/page/586/sec...iddlelevel.asp

FBLA Future Business Leaders of America. Didn't know they had middle level till I found the site, I'm quite proud of being a former member of the group.

Dr. took Hubby out of work. Between his weight and diabetes he was getting VERY sick when working in the heat. Dr. wants him to go on disabilty which means he could get Medicade. When that happens Dr. wants him to get a gastro bypass. Until the diisability goes through we have no real income. I babysit for my niece every other weekend for 25 dollars and once in a while during the week for what ever she can afford to pay. I am glad we live with Mom. I hope his disibility goes through quickly. It will still take several months if not years.

Re: What is happening

Jenn's boyfriend had gastric bypass surgery. It has been very helpful, up to a point. He got down to a certain weight and was not losing the way he wanted to so he has now begun going to a nutritionist and is purchasing meals from them and is learning to change his eating habits. The bypass gives you a smaller stomach, but you CAN stretch that smaller stomach back to the same size it used to be if you don't change how you look at food. I hope your husband is able to have the surgery and that he is able to move forward in a much healthier way! Best of luck!

I know the feeling, my father took early retirment, from his job with his diabetes, he also a vet, so the VA can help him.

I also had to fight for mine, and more on that later.

My lovely roses are being chewed by japanese beetles. Arrrrghhhh! So far I haven't been able to get to a store for "weapons", I've been taking them off and stomping them on the sidewalk. They do make a satisfying crunch! :notme:

Well I'm in the USA and kind of wanting to go home (it's been a week of work and I am exhausted). It's been nice though and I even won a prize for my poster presentation. It's just that it's Holiday weekend and the hotel, which has been nice up til now, is filling up with drunk people and their families. I don't think that I can exchange my ticket though.

Make sure to tell them take that when you get them too!!

Are you going to do the traps or just poison the nasty suckers?

I'm not sure, Kat. At the moment I just took off all the blossoms, since I read online that the bugs are attracted to the scent. Now the poor plant has developed black spots on the leaves, which online info tells me all those leaves have to be removed. Not my year for roses, apparently.

I don't know but I could ask my father what he uses for he keep both mom's and grandmother's roses going I think.
 :sleepy: and I do need to let him know that the 'important paper' got here.

Something about ashes, from his woodstove do come to mind, and something else.

It Seems they have a great liking for the leaves on my Concord Grapes as well. They eat them down to a fine lace of stems.

Dad has Concord Grapes, too.

I could ask, when I 'talk to him', we had some type of bug in a tree that make a silk tent, one year.

Re: What is happening

I took Kibbie and my niece Emmi (2yrs) to a watermelon festivile yesterday. There was an indoor pool which is where Kibby stayed a good part of the time. They also had a water slide and bounce house. That is where Emmi and I stayed most of the time. Kibby did enter the seed spitting contest, greased watermelon relay, watermelon chunking and watermelon eating. She won a shirt in the eating contest. Emmi fussed for an hour for watermelon, but, when it came to time for the eating contest she would not eat any. As soon as the contest was over she ate 4 slices. We all had a great time.

Priscilla Jul 3 2011 05:11 PM

Re: What is happening

That sounds like a lot of fun, maw! I know what watermelon eating and seed spitting are, but what is chunking?

Today we went to a garden store and I got a set of 6 cherry tomato plants that I have repotted into larger pots and I'm hoping for some delicious tomatoes for my salads or just to eat warm off the vine! :good:

Sound like a good idea, just watch out for those bugs that like those kinda plants.

I'm trying to finish tying off some loose end, before Tues. Wed. and Fri. :)

mawra Jul 3 2011 08:52 PM

Re: What is happening

Watermelon chunking is seeing how far you throw it. Kibbie manged 9 feet. They let Emmi roll one. Emmi tried to it up and throw it, but it weighed as much she does.
The greesed watermelon relay the team had to carry a watermelon that had been soaked in cooking oil for 3 days. Kibby dropped hers, her team came in last.

Welcome Home Edi!!

We're counting days down. Finished packing for our trip. Leelan and I are going to New Orleans for the annual Beauty and the Beast Con (it's held in different places once a year in July).
It's the fandom we met through and right before our second wedding anniversary (July 15th) so we're using it as a honeymoon as well :bouncy:

Got a few things marked so after the paint dries I well be able to tell were somethings are via my fingers. I'm working on via a cctv trying to time a trip for Mon. planing on using the bus, which might take me longer to get to and from home to stop depending on the weather and lighting.

Here something I spotted http://www.webdesignerdepot.com/2010...abled-artists/ via Twitter GinnyStar2 :)

I've got a few in my collection saved, for I've done a few images myself.

The last 2 kittens that were suppose to be Kibbie's died, so she said she wanted a puppy instead. We found a small wire haired puppy today. It is smaller then a couple of our cats. One of the cats have chased the puppy under the van. Poor puppy getting chased by the mean cat. Will post pics when I have a chance.

Sorry Maw but I'm seeing an image in my mind of Peanut when his was a kitten, and/or Smokey when he was a kitten, they both like to hid under a chair.  at the image, poor puppy.

Tomorrow is a motorcycle "run" in memory of Mike's uncle, who died about 5 years ago. He left a 9 year old son at the time, and all the boy's uncles and family have gotten together ever since to have this summer event to put together a bank account so that he can have something when he turns 18. There's well over 100 bikes (and riders, of course), a raffle, live music, food on the grill and soda or beer. It's supposed to be a gorgeous day, looking forward to it with lots of sunscreen!

Mike's new, much better bike!

This is a good way to help out and keep his memory going.

A friend's mother just passed away, :( she had fallen early on in the week, and died last night, first time being home in the place were he grew up by himself, he helps with the local blind outreach and he and I have work on a few project together, he told me about how his mother use to get to and from their home to the church, its on a hill, so is his home, the same way even if they added on a new easier to entrance, to the church.

He also like to images too, and love outdoors and riding bikes too.

Yesterday I had a great day with Jody Lyn Nye and her husband Bill Fawcett. More about this in Jody's subforum. Which could use some (new) traffic :)
