Brenda, if you already have "bought Sunset's Gold" you need not go search as it's just the songs from the CD accompanied by pictures of book covers and other dragon pictures. Not original andexcept for the music not special or worth seeing.

We didn't spot this thread before, or we would have responded sooner.

We found blessedbyacurse's youtube posting, too, and we got in touch with her about copyright info, links, and not posting the entire album. She was very happy to make all the adjustments we requested. I don't know whether she has gotten permission to use the artwork but she does have permission to use the Masterharper tracks (albeit retrospectively), and this was a completely innocent oversight. It's funny how the concept of intellectual copyright and artists earning a living from their work is such a difficult one to grasp, presumably because it's so intangible.

What's allowed generally, if, say I would want to put up some your music on my site?
Is there a maximum length "we" are allowed to present for listening/download or a maximum of numbers from a CD?

Hi Hans! Is there a way to get an email notification from threads I've posted in? I would have answered this earlier if I'd seen it, really!

Legally, if you want to put any part of someone's music up on your site you need to get a license from them first.

In practice, most of us (musicians) have given up trying to keep a tight rein on our legal rights since we'd spend all our time hunting down infractions instead of creating more music. But also if we can't keep up with our bills, then we'll end up having to get day jobs and won't have the time or resources to write, arrange and record more music. So generally I'd say don't use any more than half of a track, give an easily visible credit, and make a direct link to someplace on the web where the music is for sale. That way, instead of stealing music, you're helping to promote it.

Yes, there is an easy possibility for updates on selected threads.

On the top op the thread you have a pull down menu link "Thread Tools" (next to "Search this Thread).
Click that and you are offered a number of choices.
Among the first four you'll see "Subscribe to this thread"
If you click that you will et an email every time somebody posts in that particular thread.

Needless to say you don't want to hit "subscribe" on too many threads or you'll have a very full mailbox IF the threads are very active

But it is a good way to keep on top of things!
