I made up some stuff about him but he was Annie's character to begin with.
Why, Ginny, what do you mean, "kinda" read? That's my best medical handwriting. (Even my grandmother once requested that I type my notes to her because my handwriting is so bad)

I think she meant that she was able to read it properly as her eyes aren't too crash hot and the compie screen gets the better of her at times.

Oh well, it could have easily been my writing. It wasn't so bad when I was little but it may be why the same grandmother taught me to type in the first place!

You got it, my eye tired easy and dry out fast.

Sometime light can overlod it, kinda like a brain (shellperson) getting too data to go over at one time.

That why they started to teach me typing in jr high school but the steps at school and my bad sight didn't make a good fit,it kind like a in hindsight I wish I had learn braille, at the time I didn't know about www.hadley.edu/The Hadley School for the Blind and it high school program which would have made it easier on me.

for to do notes by hand, you have to got backwards. I've that in the one on sandtables.

My handwriting is hit and miss

I can read most of just the last bottom lines of the note is hard to read.

My handwriting isn't too bad these days- but that's practice and slowing down. My co-ordination isn't that hot and it lets me down majorly when I write fast.

BTW: Damn it! Barque Cats hasn't made it to Rotterdam yet. When's the UK date? If it's before April I can pick it up when I go to Manchester (5 days of Materials Physics and a suspicious lack of social events at a conference-I'm going to be stocking up). Otherwise it'll have to wait until I get my credit card.

I had the same problem, Edith. Wish Corgi got off their rear ends and put the book out at the same time as the US publishers then I've got half a chance of getting it sooner then having to wait as patiently as possible to receive the US version. Wish my "copy" would hurry up so I can read it

At the moment I am trying to break in a new keyboard and mouse pug-in, the command keys are in a differnt spot than I am not use to.

Well, Ginny, in corporate America the bottom line is the only one they ever read anyway so maybe you could be a CEO of something? --no, probably not. You seem like a decent human being, which disqualifies you for that sort of job.

lol at that one, I am acting volunteer director for a local outreach center for the blind here in Wausau, WI there are two new centers open in Green Bay, WI too.

Along with being a volunteer ambassador for Wisconsin Talking Book and Braille Library.

Along with other volunteer work I'm working on.

Did you know that braille was originally invented by the French army as a way of passing messages that could be read at night?

I always thought it came about because of Louis Braille who was blind and unable to read so he fixed it up so that others who were blind, could learn to read and write but he's French so it's possible that there's a connection somewhere along the lines.

As I understand it, Braille took the army code and refined it somewhat (the army version appears to have had some individual codes for complete words) for civilian use.

Indeed he did. Did you know that Louis Braille was only 15 when he developed the Braille code? He blinded himself with an awl by mistake when he was 10 (in one eye, it got infected and spread to the other as well), so he could read when it happened. 5 years later he used the same awl to make the dots...

Yes, there are that have eight cell instead of six, for holding additon information.

There is an Reader's Digest article call the Man Who Touched the Star a Blind NASA physicist working with the SETTI program when the article, I wrote to hime and he sent me a letter, also I have seen not used the special board that has rased peg to show the combination of letter and such.

Coding for sicence, math, music, and much more.

Its the other way around, a blinded officer, befriend Louis Braille and show him that system of reading coding in the dark, and it took a long time get on the same page, same system, and Braille's system worked the best.

I just got done with yours and AMC audio book, thanks, It came at a good time for me, when I need something, and that was it.

I knew a blind student who claimed that Braille was the best invention ever as he had been able to read in bed with out his mum knowing (and without having to wear gloves in winter)!

One of my former neighbors was blind. When they were teens, his sighted brother asked him to teach him braille, so that both of them could read in the dark.

You wouldn't need a flashlight either. My mother was blind for the last ten years of her life--it was very sad for her because she was a voracious reader. When my dad died, she thought her one consolation would be she would be able to read without him feeling left out and wanting her to stop and pay attention to him (which she did. They were very close but obviously, Dad wasn't a reader). She finally got audio books from the school for the blind in Kansas City and between those and the radio she got by okay, I guess, though it wasn't the same. My brother read to her when he got a chance which was great because he has a beautiful deep announcer's type voice and my Mom loved to hear him read. If I called when he was reading to her, I'd just say bye and hang up so she could continue to enjoy it.

My one grandmother is losing her hearing, the one who is qutie crafty. Remind me of some about Doona and Todd, and I hope the Talking Book Library get so other fan can enjoy it too. Didn't see it the the larger print catalong, I did see something other that I am looking for. Non AMC.

My book was far too short __________________ Nina The Rowan is my favourite! "The name rowan is believed to derive from the Norse runa - "a charm". It was often planted outside houses to ward off witches. On May Day a spray of rowan leaves was hung over doors to repel evil, and wells dressed with rowan to keep witches away. The rowan, or mountain ash, is found commonly in Scotland, sometimes clinging to a rock face."
