Hey, first day of September. We are actually having a beautiful day. I am in a new building at work and for the first time in 11 years, I have windows!!!! I just love the sun coming in. But at the moment, I sure would like a glass of that cider, Ginny.

Thanks, Jube! Now I can just sit in a comfy chair and read a while. Maw, I hope you are starting to feel better today but my experience with bruises is that they feel worse for a few days before they start to feel better.

That's okay Mawra.

Junior and I brought Chinese take-away for dinner tonight but we may yet cook up steak and vegies too, leaving the Chinese for tomorrow night. Hubby went to work today. He was only going in for 6 hours but he's doing a 12 hour shift instead. Means we can get Junior organised with his luggage and camera this week before he goes on his school excursion. A week without parents, I don't think he'll sleep before-hand

Sandi: with my current head I'd be an idiot to do any serious bouncing. I only demonstrated some basics to the beginers, but it was nice to concentrate on some others rather than myself.

Last night I also managed to go on a choir outing (about 60 of us) to Birmingham Town Hall (concert venue not council offices, THAT'S the City Hall) where we sang a Christmas concert with Birmingham Philharmonic Orchestra.

Things are improving. My flu has reduced to a head cold. I'm trying to be better by Sunday. We've got the big '9 lessons and carols service' in the evening followed by the Choir Christmas Meal! And, we've got to sing a delightful new piece by John Lees called 'In All My Holy Mountain' which we do early on in the 'prophesy' section.

Be careful singing when you're ill. years ago I was determined to stick it out for a Christmas Cantada that involved lots of rehearsals when I had an "upper respiratory infection." When it was over I lost my voice and when it returned it was a poor imitation. To this day I can't even carry a tune in a bucket.

Back when I was in the school choir we used to do two performances of our carol concert in one day, afternoon (for junior school and their parents) and evening (senior ditto) + we would have rehersed all morning. We used to live on cough linctus. Our favorite was a syrup of white pine. Then we found out that it had morphine in it!

The school banned it.

Our main problem at the later performances was our music teacher who couldn't hold her drink. By the second half she'd be waving her baton around at random and we'd get on and do the concert the way we'd practiced it. One year she managed to put her foot clean through her skirt!

I am cold and there is well over a foot of yucky white stuff outside.
The cats are all going stir crazy. The kitten are attacking EVERYTHING and the dogs won't even go out. Unless the REALLY REALLY need to. Even Kibbie's cat, Two, used the litter box rather than go outside. He NEVER uses the litter box.

Hey all, long time no see. I have brought goodies from my garden. Tomatoes, onions, bell peppers, chilies (some hot, some not). I have put them on the table in the kitchen. Just take what you need. We are having a great harvest this summer. Will have pears soon!!

By the second half she'd be waving her baton around at random and we'd get on and do the concert the way we'd practiced it. I have brought goodies from my garden. Tomatoes, onions, bell peppers, chilies (some hot, some not). I have put them on the table in the kitchen. Just take what you need. We are having a great harvest this summer.
