Default Spring Ride

Sunday was so lovely (over here) that I jumped on the old bike and pedalled off out into the country.

Set off past the park ...

Somebody's front garden had these ...

Somebody else had some rather late cherry blossom ...

The hedgerows had quite a lot of English wild roses ...

And the verges were rife with cowparsley ..

I steamed round a corner and had to stop a bit sharpish for these ...

The view I had come to photograph was this ...

"Truth is stranger than fiction: fiction has to make sense." Leo Rosten.

"When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up."
C. S. Lewis

"I find television very educational. Whenever somebody switches it on I go in the other room and read a book." (attributed to Groucho Marx)

The Pedants are revolting! (against bad grammar)

Beautiful set, Peter! The last shot is wonderfully serene, definitely worth the trip to get the picture.

The first flower is rhododendron. I have several rhododendron bushes which are blooming beautifully right now, too.

A nice set indeed with the first and the last being the best, imho. I agree with Cheryl, the last picture is great and has that tension I miss a little bit in the first one, which is undoubtedly a very good photograph, too!

That last one is one to frame but would even better as a front book cover; it has such nice space for text! Yes, I can't help noicing things like that because I am so often looking for things like that in my day to day work

Looks like you had a great day, P'ter and thanks for posting the pics

Love them, P'ter. That last one caused the song "On a Clear Day" to pop into my head, not so much because it was a clear day, but because it seems like we can "see forever!"

Peter...these photos of yours are amazing...they look so much like what we over here all think England looks like....green rolling hills and beautiful flowers.
I whole heartedly agree...the first and the especially the last one...are perfect for hanging and showing your incredible artistic skills with a camera.
