The number of active users of this forum is creeping back up after hovering in the teens for months.
But, there's very little activity to keep them here. So, to start off a discussion: Was Anne right to invite other authors to collaborate in some books?

I'd say yes. It's much easier to clarify your ideas when you can bounce them off someone else. But I've got a few questions of my own. Like, what was the nature of that collaboration and how much contact was there between the two authors. And, did the collaborations help the careers of the other authors? It could be a great type of apprenticeship scheme if it worked well.

In some cases it was done to promote writers Annie thought "Worthy". Some of them acknowledge that. Where I think it then went astray was, for example, Stephen Michael Stirling who helped her write The City Who Fought, and then wrote The Ship Avenged on his own. He tends to be a far darker writer and, like most male authors, tends to be technology-led rather than character-led like Annie.

I liked The City That Fought. Never heard of the other one.
