HOLY COW Bob...that would be a fantastic project for you. Have you been to see Hans, Pern Museum and Archives ??? If you haven't, perhaps you should go take a look...as I think you'll really enjoy it.

Yep. I've been to Hans' site many times. I'm trying to decide if I want to pattern the personna section after the encyclopedia or do something different. I'm leaning toward a similar format with a few alterations to "highlight" things such as dragon/fire lizard(s), weyr/craft/hold, etc.

Well I tried something and some how its did work. "sigh" I found a program that can scan and read barcode, handwriting, and other paper media. I was trying to download it directy from the site, after I had paid for it. I use a Credit Card. The first time I though it was actived, after get that untangle, I tried today to get it download, I forgot to save it before opening it, my system froze at the 99% done and I don't think I got my download. I have e-mail them twice and now I am wating for a answer. and I though I had things sit-up the right way. The site works with HP, for its scaning software.

I hope I not off topic here but what a day.

Update, and what an update. they got both of my e-mails and send me a secondary way to download their software.

Thank goodness. It worked. I was about 3 am in the moring when I download it but its work so far. I have not had a change to test it out completly. but its helping me read some of the file. Now all have to get work on the papers. That shoud be a bit of work for me but it well be worth it to get them is a format I can read.

Bob, good luck in whatever style you decide on. I am glad to hear
that you have also been to see *The Pern Museum and Archives,
a site that I personally consider to be the most amazing collection
of Pern facts anywhere on the internet...well come to think on it,
anywhere... period.

Hey, if it's a book club edition and it makes you happy to be able to view the maps in one piece, why not? And especially since we all know that you'd never ever broach copyrights, and it's for your own use...well, I'd say more power to you.
