Default dream books

Has anyone got a dream book, one they'd love but is unvailable or too expensive.
mine is the 1968 edition of restoree. its the edition i borrowed from the mobile library with the cover i use for my avatar. its so much more appropriate to the book than the paperback covers, slightly unsettloing but it symbolises the book so well.
but its £500 for i think the same edition on Amazon.

I'm still trying to get a US/Del Rey 1st ed hardcover of Dragonquest; haven't been willing to shell out $200+ for it yet (despite having paid more for other books--but those were worth it ).

In the non-book category, I'd love one of the very few Ted E Bears that were made to go with The Ship Who Searched.

I'd love a HB copy of Treaty at Doona . I have the first and third in HB (granted Crisis is a SciFi book club edition). As this is among my favorite Anne series, would love to have ALL of them in HB.

Dream AMC book?

Sure, a first US ed. hardcover of Dragonflight, signed please

But despite me being a collector I know I will never pay prices going in the hundreds of dollars since I do not buy the books for investment or to ever sell; so the actual, value has no meaning to me. I want the books for other reasons. That is one reason why I collect international editions because they represent what I DO want as AMC books (and especially Pern books) are concerned: all different text editions! That means English ones too, so I am most happy if I get a book / books in which there are differences between text, like is the case with many US and UK books, even among paperback editions

Other dream collectibles are the Ted. E. Bear Cheryl mentioned and the Map of Pern that was published by Dragonhold Ltd. (preferably one of the 25 signed/numbered copies)... see, I'm an easy guy

I would love to have a first adition of ANY Pern book! Especially if it was A Gift of Dragons, All the Weyrs of Pern, The White Dragon, or Dragonquest. But it is probrably really expensive. Maybe I can get a copy someday.

The first three are doable for reasonable prices, princess. Do an advanced search on Abe Books: hardcover, first edition

They are not Anne books ... but my dream books are by Anthony Horowitz.

A series of books he wrote many many moons ago that have been out of Print since they were printed it seems!

I've already tracked down the first 2 in the series...

The Devils Doorbell (a tatty used paperback)

&

Night of the Scorpion (a Hardback edition in excellent condition!)

but i still need Silver Citadel & Day of the Dragon

It was originally supposed to be a series of 5 books but due to an apparent disagreement with the publisher the 5th never materialised.

The author is actually ressurecting the series in a way ....

But its an updated version with different characters, Locations, and various plot alterations its just not the same, if you know what i mean to what i read as a child.

This is the series of Books that first made reading fun for me, and not hard, boring and to be avoided ... which is how i viewed reading before i turned 10.
