Okay, dunno how I missed her, but looks like her name was not tossed into the mix for Lessa, Laura Fraser. Watching A Knight's Tale, and seeing her as the blacksmith. I could so see her as weyrwoman. I looked up information on her, looks like she stands 5'-3" tall. Dark hair, light eyes, and definitely understated beauty.

I caught the kinda old movie "Quigley Down Under" on TV, and it occurred to me that whoever the lady is who's the main female character in that flick would make a good Lessa. At leaSt she would have at that time! Tiny and delicate w/ lots of dark hair and a bit of a firecracker personality.

And yes, I know that The Rock doesn't fit the physical description, but since F'lar and F'nor had the same father and different mothers, this would emphasize the fact that they are half-brothers. And I also would like to see a more racially diverse cast than what is seen in The People of Pern. Especially Sebell being played by someone of Arabic or Indic origin (like Suresh from Heroes). GH |

While I agree that the Rock makes a great friendly, likeable- type guy, that's personally not the physical appearance that I always saw for for F'nor. And Brenda's right- where are we going to find someone that looksa like him? And Canth- what about Canth? What about Grall? What about Brekke? |

Ghost...I saw that when I read who you suggested, but I thought she look to well feed in that picture to look like Lessa...remember Lessa was very thin most all her life. I do like her face...if it was a bit thinner.

Oh noooooooooooo Jube. Fandarel is a *tree Stump* of a man. He is huge, built like a heavy worlder. Robbie Coltrane has always seemed to me to be the perfect Fandarel...give him a short buzz hair cut and put him in leather pants and vest, he would be just perfect
Tom Seleck is just to gorgeous of a man to be Fandarel...in my drooooooling over him opinion....but he would make a hellva fantastic looking Dragonrider or Lord Holder.

Someone mentioned needing a larger than life persona to play Toric. The Rock might fit that bill to a "T". I like muti-cultural, and multi-racial casts. I suggested on an HP board, that the best person to replace Richard Harris would have been Morgan Freeman (and I still think that). But that would have required some guts. Anyone know how well Morgan Freeman can sing? He's got the presence to play Robinton. GH |

I would have to agree with Emeraldrose...Woody Harelson just isn't big enough...you would need someone the size of one of those wrestlers they have on the ECW or WWF...a huge hulking guy, who is somewhat good looking in the face as well as smart enough to own half of Southern.
Killafan...Most AMC fans that I polled, thought that Catherine Zeta-Jones...was the spitting image of Avril Bitra.... http://forums.srellim.org/showthread...ht=Avril+Bitra thats why I did this of her...hope you enjoy it. I would love to see her play the part in the movie as well...but she might be getting to old to play Avril now.

Morgan Freeman has the 'wisw old man' presence. He can pull off the sneakyness of Robinton, as for singing, he can lipsync if he can't actyally carry a tune. I'd love to see Morgan as Robinton, but from the pictures I'd seen of the Masterharper Morgon doesn't look like hinm.

BDW is way too old and I'd sooner cast Snipes as R'gul. Dwayne (The Rock) Johnson works better for funny than truly bad, so I can't see him as Toric. For someone from the same batch of actors I'd sooner take Vin Diesel (if you've ever seen the Riddick films, he can do truly bad and better he can do truly ambiguous), although truth-be-told, my first choice for Toric might be Tahmoh Penikett with a blond dye job. I want to repeat my choice for Fandarel (Michael Clarke Duncan from Armegeddon and Green Mile)
Thinking of Robinton's mobile face made me think of Jim Carrey (sp?) but he is wrong age and does not have the dramatic weight for Robinton (at least in pictures I have seen him in)...He has done some drama though. If I watched more daytime soaps I could probably come up with some names. Tamara Braun comes to mind as Lessa http://www.imdb.com/media/rm2609289984/nm0105860 |

Jim Carrey is a very mobile in the face. For him to appear older just need some latex facial prothesis.;-)
Vin Desil, good actor.I saw the RIddick films. He's being considered for Hannible in one of the up coming "Hannible" films. Dwane still new as an actor, it leaves room to grow, seems to have a LOT of fun. Give 'em a shot for dramatic and see how he flys. Vin and Dwane "could" pull off sibling charactors. Putting a tan on Vin is easy with the spray tanning solution. Vin "So I'm flyin' a dragon? Cool. Do I get to set some things on fire?" FOr another bad guy, how about Temura (Jango Fett Star Wars). He was also in a few Dr. WHo episodes. |

Emeraldrose...I love Michael Clarke Duncan to...and he is definitely big enough to play Fandarel...he was also in The Scorpion King, and he was marvelous. I think he would do a great job...but I still see Robbie Coltraine in my minds eye...I think he would be fantastic as Fandarel.

Diesel, is supposed to play THE Hannibal, not Hannibal Lecter of recent fame. The one Vin plays is the guy who brought elephants over the Alps to attack Rome, around two thousand years ago.
Come to think of it though, the dragonriders tend to be described as lithe/lanky, except for Jora. Light of frame at the very least. I can't see Diesel as a dragonrider. Hey, how about he be Brand. |

Here is my two cents...
I did not come up with all of these on my own- some have already been mentioned and my mentioning is my agreeing with that choice. Lessa - Amy Jo Johnson with black hair F'lar - Christian Bale beefed up F'nor - Eric Bana Robinton - Jeremy Irons or Liam Neeson Moreta - Amanda Tapping Menolly - Emma Watson (Hermione) Toric - Tahmoh Penikett Jaxom - Tom Welling Sharra - Jennifer Connelly T'bor - Karl Urban Kylara - Amy Smart T'kul - Mel Gibson ( Think Lethal Weapon) Peimur - Frankie Muniz Sebell - Ewan McGregor C'gan - Alexander Morton Fandarel - John Rhys-Davies F'lessan - Eric Dane |

Neryma...Have you seen John Rhys-Davies lately. In the last few years he has been getting as thin as a rail...he's also way to old to be able to handle it now.
Last year I did a portrait of Liam Neeson as *Red Hanrahan* with red hair of course...so I can't really see him as Robinton. Emma Watson...now that is a lovely pick for Menolly!! I think Christian Bale is to hard looking for Flar
