Hi all, can anyone recommend a really good book with a protagonist like Killashandra? It's so rare to finish a book feeling the way I do with The Crystal Singer Trilogy. I need to read something with a powerful woman lead character. Not the Hunger Games, please

Try Cordelia's Honor by Lois Bujold. She's not a diva, but she's certainly strong, and she knows how to prioritise what's truly important in her life, changing entire planets in the process.

Yeah I very much second Bujold's books with Cordelia. I'm trying to think of others but I'm blanking. Killashandra's such a unique character.

How about Elizabeth Moon's Paksenarion series?

Hard to go wrong there!

The books are: Sheepfarmer's Daughter, Divided Allegiance, and Oath of Gold - or the omnibus edition, The Deed of Paksenarrion.

And what makes that choice even better... there's a new series of books in that world following the old one and it is just as good!

I read the first of the new ones, and while it was good it didn't quite have the same feel as the original trilogy for me - possibly because I've read the originals so many times and become so attached...

I definitely second the Paksenarrion books and the following trilogy.

The Honor Harrington series by David Weber, scifi military, with strong female lead. Plus, lots of books in the series? Fourteen and counting!
