Default How conscious is Amariyah's talent?

I've been re-reading Pegasus in Space and I've noticed that while Rhyssa keeps going on about Amariyah being unconscious of her talent, Amariyah makes comments and consciously does things- strokes Peter's arm, looks for the blood clot etc.

So, what do people think? Is Rhyssa being overly worried, or is Amariyah unconscious of her talent?

edit: could someone correct my spelling- I missed out the "s" in conscious in the title

Just off the top of my head, she is young, and I think Rhyssa is worry on taping into her abilities to help others who are in need. She is aware of doing something, about Peter and his hurts, removing the clot, she know instinctive but not how control it, or when the 'pathed to Peter and Johnny to help that something she could only do in an emergency. Book not to hand. Its getting too dark to read. hope I helped.

Micro Talent, just like Ruth Horvath Dorothea (sp) mother

I agree with Ginny, I think Amariyah isn't "conscious" of her talent as such, but the innate sense for healing which she has drives her to try to ease pain where she can, particularly for those for whom she has loving feelings such as Peter and Dorothea.

It seems almost like an involuntary reaction, sometimes.

It does. And they don't want to make her aware of her talent, as they're afraid that it would make her work herself to exhaustion.
