Looking up mountains now, is it the Mullaghmore mountain at The Burren?

Is it one of the Aran Islands off the coast?

BTW: this is as close to The Burren as I'm going to get when this pops up:

Jube, it's not the islands.

It's that picture in your link.
That is literally the same picture. I'm guessing the person who took that was on the same major bus tour that I was on, and stopped at the same souvenir shop/cafe for a rest stop before driving out into The Burren.

Your previous guess was the right area (the Burren) - just the wrong mountain. I don't know the name of this mountain, but if people want to try to narrow it down further than this, feel free to keep going!

It's not a palm tree, it's a cordyline. Various varieties of it grow all round the south Pacific, and New Zealand produces and exports fancy varieties of with variegated and coloured leaves. I was at a gardening do recently when a local Maori elder said they ate the centres of the leaf tufts - hence the common name of "cabbage tree," - and used the hollow, corky branches for fishing floats. In the South Island they baked the trunks to extract the sugar out of them, and on Pitcairn Island the Bounty mutineers used them to make a potent alcohol.

Quite interesting reading too, Vyon.

Sorry for not replying sooner, I've got the flu or it's a 24 hour bug that I can't shake off. Anyway ... thanks. I'll keep looking but can't promise anything at the moment, my head's not thinking straight
