I read it once in paperback, and have to get a new copy, for the Ship Who Sang. by the way @ edith what were the other two books?

I didn't see this as a collection of stories, it flowed as from chapter to chapter very smoothly. Overall a rather good book. Now I need to get the next book/books. I'll check out a couple used book stores first, if not there I am sure I can get it off alibris.com

Dragon Fan - it started out as short stories, which were adapted into the novel.

I will say that since most of the books are collaborations with other authors, they each have a very different feel. If you don't like one, still try the others.

Hurrrray DF...glad to hear that you're enjoying it so far. It only gets better with each chapter and each reading of it over the years.

I and a few other lucky MoMers, got to hear her read the first few pages of it in person, when we all went to Eurocon back in 2007...I couldn't belive my eyes and ears and I happily cried all the way through it...thankfully my dear Husband took a flim of it.

The other *Ship* stories are wonderful as well...not quite as good as the original, but still very, very good, exciting and quite enjoyable...hope you also give them a try and enjoy them too.

I have just read "The ship who sang" and liked it very much. I decided to read the books in the order they were published. Am reading the ship who searched right now and am 3/4 done and I would rate it as a little better than the ship who sang. But, if it is as I suspect, From these posts, and each of the following books are stand alone novels, a reading order may not matter.

So do I, we just don't see what happen after she get her new 'body' and it was her 'shellperson broker' who helped her get fixed, and the drive to if I recall right, book is packed

There are many ways a sequel could play out, would be interesting.
