Default BB ships in real life- almost!

Cool stuff. Just an example of how technology in real life is coming closer to sci-fi.

Yeah! I hope they'll be able to commercialize the system, lots of people could benefit from it. And the advantage compared to Anne's world is that it doesn't require permanent brain taps!

That's really cool, and slightly freaky. Mostly the idea that this can be controlled by the user just wearing an "EEG cap". The idea that thoughts can really be read as brain waves outside the head, just makes the whole idea of the Talent universe that much more plausible.

S-P-O-O-K-Y

Look what else I stumbled upon- I am not doing 'research' on this stuff, I just halppen to find it.

http://nitrolab.engr.wisc.edu/blog/?p=39

All this gives me an idea- how about a Tower Prime that's quadriplegic? Or one that's autistic, and has trouble communicating verbally, but absolutely no problem with telepathy/telekenesis? Why not?

There was a report some years ago now that some researchers in (I think) N.Y. could control the speed of model trains by 'thinking' at them.

The quadriplegia thing has been done in Pegasus in Flight and Pegasus in Space.

I'm not sure an autist could communicate any easier through telepathy, since their brains are wired so differently. Theycan't interpret other people's feelings in the same way as the rest of us. However, I could see telepathy and particularly empathy as a therapy to make an autist realize he's not the only inhabitant on this planet.

Cool looks like something "Sephen Hawkin" (sp) would use. His also a fan of ST:NG he made a camo in one, passing the warp drive he said via his system "I am working on that"

Also some like Tia used before she became a shellperson!

In Pegasus in Flight they use it to get an image of Tirla (sp).

I meant the quadriplegia thing with Peter Reidinger.

Peter Reidingdinger became quadriplegic? Wow. . . I haven't read Pegasus in Space (yet), but no worries!

Anyway, your idea about empathy being a therapy for people with autism interested me, Granath, and my non-researching self found another on just that.

http://www.thedailybeast.com/blogs-a...autism-theory/

Another therapy that I've heard about is service animals for people with autism. The animal helps them feel compassion for another being, and also interact with others. Interesting!

Actually, the first Peter Reidinger came to the attention of, I think it was the Eastern Parapsychic Center, as a quadriplegic in Pegasus in Flight. He was a young teen who had a wall fall on him. That was why he learned to gestalt with generators, and he was the first to do so. He first used it to go Out Of Body. And then, when he went to the Center, they helped him learn to move his body with it.

Didn't J. Green used something like that to save himself too? Drats, "sigh" my mind is not at full power right now.

Yeah, he did, but unlike Peter he didn't have to use gestalt/telekinesis all the time to walk and do basic daily tasks.

Interesting theory, Weyrlady!

There are also something in our collection about dogs who are service animales that can tell when a person is going to have a sezier, what my other half has.

Also there are one who are trained to help a person with Parkenson (sp) NG: Dogs with Jobs. Had a few.

Also to keep our three cats, we had to get something saying they where more than pets, they were emotal suport animals, in a "no pet" place.

"Chucking" I know, I had our cats come and tell us I've forgoten my white seeing cane, Reggie, try tell me first, I didn't understand what he was trying to tell me. When Dan J got home, Reggie led him to his bedroom where my caine was still standing by his bed, I used his room to take a nap I would have used mine, I had both of them sleeping in the middle of the bed.

He has done that twice so far. He even has gotten me, when Dan J. started to have one of his sizer I was here on the computer and Reggie, come pawwed me, and turn towards Dan Chair saying "follow me" I then could herar over the computer Dan having the acttact and was there for him.

He stuck like gule to Dan J a few differnt time before one the atacts.
Ginny! PS s say Hi! "Meow"! and Dan J. says hi too.

*laughs sourly* I can confirm that in my case this theory is correct. I don't know about other people, though.
I have Asperger's Syndrome, by the way. On top of ADHD. I'm really messed up, aren't I?

Welcome to the club Dear. In my case the diagnosis of Aspergers wasn't made till I was 63! A little late for learning the 'right' way to cope. Went through school feeling totally outside the peer group.

(hugs Mealla) I have Asperger's on top of bipolar disorder that manifests as extreme suicidal depression. If you're screwed up (and I don't think you are), then I'm even more so, especially since I'm afraid there might be a third issue with me.

Please try to not feel so bad, okay?

You're not messed up 'til you're dead, and even then, I have my doubts. I'm on the half-shell myself, that's how I know.
