Default need suggustions

Help I need some sugustions for books to read that are out now. the book I'm reading right now is boring me to tears I can only read one page at a time before I close the book. I read almost all the books by the authors but this one is boring.

weeell... ii'd recommend 'Pawn of Prophecy' by David Eddings. It was origianly adult fiction but has become one of these inbetweeners as some teens have a higher reading level..

Warrior cat are good not si-fi tho. Kibbie loves them. She will read a 300 page book in a day. they are about 4 groups of cats that live in the wild. It is written from the cats point of view. The cats a personified. The athur is Erin Hunt. I also like Marcaies Lackey. I know I misspelled the first name.
What book are you reading & who wrote it

Depends on what you're looking for. I recently read all of Margaret Coel's Wind River mysteries (at least, I am pretty sure I read all the ones in print.)

Have you read any of the Deryni novels by Katherine Kurtz? I love them, and there are 15 that I can think of off the top of my head plus a couple short story anthologies.

I second that, and it's another great series of books that will keep you busy for awhile. I read the enitre series over one summer and as I recall I read 20 books that summer, most of them being the David Eddings books.

You should try The Naming and The Riddle by Allison Croggon. There are still two more books (one of them is to be released in October in the US), and I don't think the last one has a release date yet (I haven't looked recently).

That's all I can think of right now, but if something else crosses my mind, I'll be sure to throw some other titles your way

Yes they are FANTASTIC!!!
but a small note..

'The Naming' is an american title. Most other places it's called 'The Gift', at the moment they are a triology - however they are being currently written so more books will follow in the future.

1)The Gift (the naming)
2)The Riddle
3)The Crow

I'll third that one!

They're a lovely escape (the whole 2 series)- though in my current mental state- I actually caught myself crying.

Anything by Alan Dean Foster, you get absorbed into the books after the first few pages, rather than the first few chapters with some authors.

I rarely recommend Star Trek books, because I know that not everybody is a fan of them/ it, but if you're intersted, I'd recommend the Star Trek Vanguard Series.

The first and the rcently pubished third books are by David Mack and the second book is a collaberative effort by Dayton Ward & Kevin Gilmore.

The Series is:

Star Trek Vanguard:Harbinger
Star Trek Vanguard:Summon The Thunder
Star Trek Vanguard:Reap The Whirlwind

And it looks like there'll be a fourth book later this year.

I love Star Trek. I have never read any of the books, well, I started one long ago (from the Kirk days). What time frame are these set in?

The books are set in the Kirk era, and Kirk and crew feature some what in the first book.

Harbinger (the first book), begins in early 2263, just before Kirk's promotion to Captain of the Enterprise and concludes in 2265, between the events in TOS Episodes Where No Man Has Gone Before and The Corbomite Maneuver, and even opens with a Prologue Chapter with Commodore Matt Decker aboard the Constellation.

Summon The Thunder continues on from there about a week or so later.

Reap The Whirlwind takes place in 2266 roughly six weeks after the second book and ends just before The Corbomite Manoever.

Makes me kinda think that The First Federation might be involved in the fourth book, though they are not the main protagonists in the first three, and don't even make an appearance in the books.

I have a webpage of books I like just for this purpose http://www.ballybran.org/pbs/book/authors.htm

Though, if clicking a link is too much effort (I know that sometimes it is) Wen Spencer's Ukiah Oregon books are awesome. Start with Alien Taste They're about a tracker who was found as a boy running with wolves.. but it turns out he's not human...

Sorry, but George R. R. Martin's Series is A Song of Ice and Fire. Robert Jordon is the author of the Wheel of Time. Unfortunately, neither series is finished yet, although Jordon is working on the last book of his series and hopefully it will be out sometime in 2008.

Easy to get them confused, both are extra thick epic fantasy that are taking too long to finish.
