This highlight is a continuation of CH#39 (where you'll find the general introductory details to these editions), CH#42, and CH#45.

The Masterharper of Pern (Мастер-арфист), published in 2006 in a run of 3600 copies, 512 pages, ISBN 5-699-15085-4.

The Skies of Pern (Небеса Перна), published in 2006 in a run of 4000 copies, 544 pages, ISBN 5-699-15972-Х. Cover art from the UK Skies of Pern by Les Edwards.

Dragon's Kin (Драконий родич), published in 2005 in a run of 10000 copies, 416 pages, ISBN 5-699-10083-0.

This concludes my series of Collecting Highlights on the Russian Black Filigree editions of the Pern series.

The cover art for the top and bottom of these looks familiar to me, but I haven't dug up the source for either yet: please share if you know it!

The top one is Jaxom and Ruth from The World's Dragons Keepsake Collection art cards by Tim Hildebrant. It actually is the picture on the Keepsake envelope, in addition to being a card. The other one looks Hildebrant-ish to me too in style, but I've no idea if it is or not.

The bottom one is by Michael Whelan. It's on the cover of the German edition of Drakon's Kin: Drachenwege. The dragon is cut out from the whole and pictured in reverse.

Hmm, I'm betting the Whelan picutre was originally for something else then, as why the heck would the Germans hire him to create a new pic when Del Rey didn't?

Looks like it's from 2001, but I've no idea if it's been used as a cover elsewhere, other than the German Dragons Kin....

Goldwing, eh? There used to be little colored dragon avatars that could be put on webpages and such and they were all called Greenwing, Bluewing, Brownwing and Goldwing. When I first saw this one I thought immediately of those little things but didn't think they'd really use them for a book cover. So didn't mention them.

I never knew who created those dragons, so maybe Whelan??
