Very much to everyone's surprise, she got a dollar an hour raise. She was not expecting that, since she hadn't work normal hours since Christmas Eve. Has called out a lot.

Well after just over a week of heavier then normal sales at my Walmart the Kroger Grocery that was set on fire was reopened this morning. The arsonist who had been quite busy on this end of town was arrested for 4 arsons including that one, 2 fast food stores, and the vestibule of the local police department. He is suspected in 9 others here in Indiana and 7 over in northwest Ohio. The one that has even the local police saying he has big brass b*lls is the one at the police headquarters downtown which also contains 3 other city offices on the vestibule floor. The frightening part is where he was arrested. He was arrested after a fight with 4 officers and two of the asset protection associates AT MY STORE.

That must have been quite scarey, Spacecowboy! When I was growing up we had an arsonist in town. Among other things that were seriously damaged was the Catholic church. It had to be completely rebuilt. I suppose they caught the person but I don't remember. Anyway, that it took that many people in a fight to subdue the person? Either they were huge and extremely fit or fought like a wildcat when cornered. I hope no one but them was hurt!

I am really happy for Kibby and that raise. I am sure they see that she is a loyal employee and want to keep her for quite a while. Hopefully her shoulder may begin to settle down.

I wish my mom had told me what rank he had during the Korean war. Now I might never know unless I ask one of my two brothers if mom ever told them. All mom told me was that dad was in the Korean war. I had to go to the Georgia National cemetery website, type in my dad's name (it showed me a picture of the headstone) to find out he'd been in the navy!

My first airplane rides were with my uncle in his little tail dragger. We'd come home from school and the plane would be tied down in the yard. The farm was in a bit of a low spot so when it was time for him to head home we'd run up the hills to stop any traffic so he could take off.

We got the early numbers for the sale, it was smaller than we're used to but considering it was the first one in 2 years, we're pleased with it. We should get about $15,000 after all the bills are paid.

That must have been fun, Mausey. The only things I have been in were large jets, either national or international flights. I am afraid of heights so going up in a plane requires me to be somewhat fatalistic. Once I am up there is nothing I can do except hope I come back down in one piece.

I'm afraid of heights, too, but the weird thing is that I can tolerate being in an airplane! After my grandma died, went on a plane to go to her funeral in Chicago, a plane ride to Washington D.C. for the Smithsonian's 150th anniversary. Went on a plane up to Pennsylvania! My grandma died exactly one week before my birthday back in the mid '90s!

Last night he was doing a "tourist thing" at some bridge where MANY bats live and take off every night. I'm not sure if he got to see them, have to ask him later. They are ones that winter down in mesxico, and they do eat a lot of bugs if I recall right from what I recall from a PBS Nature program on them, or Nova or some other PBS program, I have it in audio, but if you ggo to PBS.org/Nature you can find online vidio and additional infoirmation add tto a hyperlink and

Thanks, Ginny. I did not know that about bats. We have bats around here most of the summer. When I go out on the deck in the early evening they will be whizzing around the yard, after bugs. Our other spring/summer visitors are the gorgeous ruby throated hummingbirds. I put out feeders for them but I learned that the sugar water is like "jet fuel" to them, they are actually eating bugs just like the bats!

Our son is on his way back from the conference. Next he and his girlfriend are taking a trip out west to the Grand Canyon and Yosemite National Parks. Because of the virus he has not had a vacation in about 3 years, he's really looking forward to it.

Thanks, Priscilla! Hoping not to go to the emergency department anytime soon! This week, need to call my doctor to see about getting my CT drain bag removed! It's getting to be a nuisance! In a few months, I hope to get my illeostomy reversed. That means I'll be offline during my hospital stay!

Our son is back from Texas. It was really hot (95 F) while he was there and apparently people were being asked to turn UP the heat in their houses because several power stations were not working (again). In a state that gets that hot I can't see how that is acceptable!

Our family are big New York Rangers hockey fans. They are in the end of season playoffs and in the "best of seven" game last night they won the series, after being behind 3 games to 1! "Let's Go Rangers!"

I love flying, little planes or the big ones. But I think I like the smaller ones the best. One year the province did a huge tourisim promotion and I got in with a local flying club and we hit every zone in a weekend. From one end of the province to the other and it was awesome. Local clubs would meet us with lunches and little gift bags. When we finished the Minister in charge of Tourism and Economics met us and we all got an award.

We did get a request for a bariatric bed, I'm not sure of the spelling but was told it's for morbidly obese patients. They also had a few other much smaller items. I think before we buy we're going to see if renting one is possible as they are EXPENSIVE!

Was thinking about my grandma (my dad's mom) yesterday. It was the anniversary of her death. Back in the mid to late '90s, she died exactly one week before my birthday! After the funeral mass, (grew up Catholic) found out I'd been one of her favorite grandkids.

Mausey, I am sure you will all carefully look into how often a bariatric bed is needed. Perhaps renting may work as you might be able to return a rented model after a certain amount of time to get a new model. Once you buy that is the end of it.

BD1, it is interesting how families never used to tell kids anything. There are still so many things about my family that as an adult I have questions about but those I could ask are long gone. I grew up in a family where "children were to be seen and NOT heard", most of the time they also preferred not to see us as well. We got paraded out for company and then sent off again. Most of the company was pretty "stuffy", going off to play was far more fun!

Very true, Priscilla! When I was younger, my mom (not the one I have now) would tell me to "come out of my bedroom, greet the guests, then go back in the bedroom." One time she told me I'm socially retarded. I wonder why! I didn't like having to go back to my room!

I'm not sure if I ever mentioned but here is a "visual" for you. When we took down the Christmas tree I set aside one of the strings of tiny colored lights. Where I sit and sew most of the day there is a "wood" fireplace - white wooden mantelpiece and red brick around the opening. I had my husband string the lights across the mantel and then back over the fireplace "screen". I have them lit most of the day and it is very cheery. Sometimes I even put a Christmas CD on. I can if I want to!

My Christmas tree stays up all year in a dark corner of the landing on my staircase. But it is not a tree. It is made out of the flower stalks of a New Zealand Flax plant (phormium tenax) By the time they are dried they have black stalks and large black curly pods. So I only have myself to blame if I finish up vacuuming lots of little black flakes off my carpet when the pods pop and the seeds fall out of them.

Yesterday, I saw the area where my CT drain goes into my body looks infected! It's past time I had the CT drain removed! Earlier today, told my doctor about the redness in the area of my ribs on the right side.

Thank You for the image discription, I can see it, I just got back from shoping for a new chair , its on sail, and I took out a extra 4 year protection on it, for if something happens like my last one, the back frame breaks, they can fix it, if not used I get in the fourty yyeyyears I get half store cretdit, good for spills, and stuff, found a office chair, order ed ttwo, needed to sspin down some of my money, didn't know how much I had, and I needeed a new one, so I am replacing as I go along, dinning dinning room chairs are showing their age, I am the second owner, but, they have served for a long time, some twoenty odd years or so. I can;t recall when my dad got them, but they have served us for a long time, dad, Dan and I, and I and others, so time to find a rreplacement.

One thing about thecovering someone liked it so well that theybought just the fabrit, and had someone eelse redo their couch, sounds like my dad, he has done with my mom s' and grandmom and friends and family did a lot of covering jobs, his reclinder was one, his old one, ;a portable fish shatanny and a seat for a snowbeal , seat, and a few other special stuff, and told other were to find the traning when they were ready..

Depending on what type of tape, you are using you may have built up a se sensitives to the tape, or its needing to air out, I got that red andsore from thtapeduring my first eye sugary, rayon and I don't get along, they have to use first paper tape then that type if theyover it if they want to keep me from breaking out, nature rubber or latex free tooo, silicon , and pinkplastic in denters and hearing aids, they have a special pplastic for my shells so I don't break out red ichy , as a and
sore, one friend can 't handle something in gllue they ended
up using a lot of scottch tape to keep in a IV. 'shrug shoulder;' I hope

Ginny? The nurse taped it in a way that it started hurting awhile after she left. She had taped where my CT drain goes into me. She had put the tubing flat against my skin! I had tried adjusting the tape and gauze, but I had done it wrong. I ask the girl with the sugar and creamer in a polite way. Example: " may I have some sugar, please? ", to which she says "no". I figure it's best not to ask for the creamer!
