I've had no reponses in 5 days, so here's the specific location:
Sabino Canyon, in the Santa Catalina district of the Coronado National Forest, just outside of Tucson.

When you said 'within 100 km of Tuscon' you weren't joking were you!

Well I was close and so was P'ter but no cigars for us obviously

My excuse was the graveyard shift got to me and my brain was feeling cloudy and before the peanut gallery (yes, you, P'ter), it's functioning quite well now

*laughs* I was a little surprised when the 100km wasn't narrowed further. But it's very hard to find Sabino Canyon on a map unless you zoon in very close, so I suspected it might be a hard find.

I spent several years living in Tucson, and Sabino Canyon and Mt Lemmon were both favorite places to hang out - utterly gorgeous scenery, and the wildlife is highly varied. And so close to Tucson that you can catch a city bus to the Canyon visitor's center.
