Cool I just noticed this...

I was watching an episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation, where one planet had a continent that looked like Eurasia tipped ninety degrees, when this thought came to me...

Pern's Northern Continent is almost the same shape as Eurasia and Africa put together!

If you'll look at the map that's usually in the front of every book...

- Nerat Peninsula = Southeast Asia (Vietnam/Thailand/Burma area)
- Igen area = India
- Big Bay = Arabian Sea/Indian Ocean
- Tillek and Southern Boll Peninsulas = Africa
- The body of water between Tillek and High Reaches area = the Mediterranean Sea
- High Reaches area = Europe

Perhaps it wasn't intentional, but I still found it interesting.

The intentional bit of the northern continent is for it to look kinda like a dragon flying and looking back/down over a shoulder.

In the thread by this name over at AMCF, someone said it's supposed to be a dragon curling up for sleep.

That's not a quote from somewhere, I think. But if it is I would love to know from where
