Anne McCaffrey: A Critical Companion
I just saw this on amazon, and it's pretty expensive, but is it worthwhile analysis? I'm sure someone here's read it.

It can be gotten much cheaper, check bookfinder.com for several copies under $10.
It is interesting, but defintely not for everyone - it really is literary analysis. Some of the analysis I found laughable, but other parts had me agreeing and sometimes had me see things in a different way than I'd ever thought of.
