RIP David Fairbrother-Roe, Pern cover artist

"I have some sad news to pass on, regarding the artist responsible for some of the iconic early covers of the Dragonriderss of Pern. David Fairbrother-Roe passed away in the early hours of Sunday, 21st July 2013, following a long struggle with cancer. Dave had been a recluse for the last 20 or so years of his life, remaining indoors at his home in the Welsh coastal village of Ferryside. Among his book covers, were Dragonsong, Dragonsinger, The White Dragon & Get off the Unicorn."
