Our pseudo-grandfather clock/display case (not really a grandfather clock, just the shape of one with a simple clock up top and a display case down below instead of the pendulum and works of a true grandfather clock.

And my hydrangea finally in full bloom on the right. As I've said, an unusually variety of hydrangea but pretty nevertheless!

Still monochrome, but this time after converting to B&W I tinted it purple. Which makes it look naturally colored unless you notice how perfectly monocromatic it is.

Two shots of insects on the neighbors' butterfly bushes. In the future expect a batch of butterfly shots. The interesting creature on the left is a snowberry clearwing, aka the bumblebee moth, which is cleverly trying to disguise itself by it's body coloring and clear wings. I'm not sure what the right-hand one is, but it's pretty common.

This is the side of what used to be my Great Grandfather's barn, and grass growing near to it. The farm was in the family for several generations. He wasn't originally going to be a farmer, having trained as a civil engineer. He actually worked on the design of the railyards at Grand Central Station in NYC, but was told for his health to work outdoors, so he returned home and became a farmer. He retired and sold the farm the year my father was born.

Part of the purpose of our VT trip was to lay my mom's ashes to rest. Fiona enjoyed reading all the letters on the grave markers, and I captured this great one of her reading the main marker in our family plot.

Our last day in VT we went up the ski gondola to the top of Mt. Mansfield, where there were fantastic views and wildflowers too.

On our way home we stopped for one last visit to the cemetary, where I took this shot of my dad at my mom's marker. It's funny how you can feel intrusive capturing a moment like this of your own family, and yet I'm very glad I did as it's very personal and powerful.
