This is one of my best loved, most commented on and watched flickr photos:
![]() Pelican close up by Hans van der Boom, on Flickr The next photo was taken when I was visiting Sea World with Lady Maelin, her hubby and my wife. It is a Black Crowned Night Heron and was prowling the lunch area of the Shipwreck Reef Café where we had lunch. ![]() Black Crowned Night Heron - San Diego, Seaworld by Hans van der Boom, on Flickr

These are beautiful Hans! What lovely shots. Me and my family have always been keen bird watchers, our holidays always orientating around various bird and nature reserves across britain.
May I ask what camera and lenses you have to take such brilliant shots?

Audanna, thank you for your kind compliments. I had a Canon 400D and 1000D but recently sold the first and moved up to a 60D. As lenses I use a Canon 17-85, a Canon 70-200 L series with an additional prime 50 mm 1.8 en Canon 100 mm Macro 2.8. These two were taken with the 70-200 L lens, Canon's pro series.

These are the mated pair of Mourning Doves, that have taken up
residence in our yard...sorry it's not as sharp and clear as most of the other photos, but it's only taken with my little Kodak Easy Share. ![]() These are a group of very protective Geeese, that I have nicknamed the *Swan Sisters* as thats what they look like while their swimming around on the local animal farm's small lake. ![]() See... they do kinda resemble Swans... ![]()

Not as clear as I would like, but I was happy just to get the picture. The eagle was pestering some gulls and other birds in the area and just keeping him in the viewfinder was a challenge.

We were watching them fly up and down the Creek for about half an hour when they landed almost directly across the Creek from us, I was very happy with the picture, it was taken with a Kodak digital zoom camera. We thought it amusing that they were there watching the "Humans" go by on the bicycle trail that runs along the Creek. We found out later from a park worker that they are a mated pair.

![]() ![]() Look through my stuff, and I don't really have any good photos of live birds that I took myself, so I figured why not settle for a statue of a woodpecker. There were several other woodland animals at the entrance to the park. This is another photo from my Quebec trip when we were at St. Anne Falls. My father, on the other hand has a really great photo of a live bird. His is a very eerie photo of a black bird sitting on a headstone in the winter.

Rianne, you may have to type the whole [IMG] code in, including the http:// as it's just not working for me today. I really should look at my photo albums and see what I can find but that's virtually a whole day of back-tracking through all the files to add to all the themes we've come up with

Rianne, I had the same little red box my first attempt. My problem was when I copied the link into the insert image box, the first part of the link got doubled up. You may need to take out a HTTP///(img) at the front end of your link. Don't know if this is what happened with yours but Ya never know.

Rianne...once you get the hang of it, it's really fairly easy...but it can be a bit frustrating at the start...just keep trying and you'll get there.

You have to have "[img]" (without the quotes) in front of the link with no spaces, then "[/img]" at the end of the link, again without quotes and no spaces.

Rianne, From the url (right click on the red X) I think this is a link to the page where the picture displays on Deviantart.com instead of the actual picture in your gallery. It is a very nice picture of a baby, bird in hand so to speak.

It should be as easy to link to a photo in a deviant art account as i is to one on flickr or photobucket, all are the same kind of storage solutions.
