Keep a "look out" at library sales, op shops, garage sales etc. I once found an ex-library 1st edition of "Dragonsong" at my local library then someone brought it up in a "Collecting highlight" and I went "I've got that and didn't know that I had one" but that was before I started to read all the highlights so you'll find them helpful too

No problem-o. It's why Becky, Cheryl and Hans bring them up so the rest of us know what to look for but then sometimes someone comes along and finds a book or perhaps a different cover and makes us think too! I think Priscilla did that, the other day when she went to the bookbarn and found some books she didn't have and was willing to share the photos of them. She had one that now I've got to go looking for

and I never heard of it before so there you go. So it does pay to go looking in unexpected places

Becky, I got the books yesterday!!

I love them! Dragondrums is my favourite because it is now OFFICIALY the oldest 1st ed HC that I own! Love the 1st ed PB's as well. Love Moreta, Nerilka, the omnibus's, oh and don't forget AtWoP and Renegades!!! OH, oh, and your guide.... I love them all!!!!! Thanks!!!!

I'm relieved that you like the books and that they arrived safely!

I noticed that you don't have Hershey down there and thought

it would be fun to add it! It is my standard go-to-local-gift since it is made in my neck of the woods! I know some people poo poo Hershey and prefer Cadbury, but I thought, hay who would turn down chocolate, chocolate's chocolate, right?

And if you didn't like it, you could give it to your hubby, because if he's anything like mine, he'll eat anything!

Up to you anyway. Willing to do trades as there may be a few things over in WA that I'm unable to get here in Viccy and vice versa.

Hey Jube, your post wasn't quirky at all, on the contrary I think your suggestion holds a lot of merit! Give me a day or two to revise my list, and I will definately get back to you!

Also make you sure you let me know what you are after! I must be honest, Perth doesn't have a huge amount to offer, especially in the way of 1st ed Pern books, but I have seen some 1st ed HC of some of Anne's other works around the place... mostly things like Pegasus series, some Crystal books, and some ship books... and maybe one or two other bits and pieces... Let me know what you want and I will have a look for you!

Definitely going to look on my bookshelves for sure. Living in a small country town with a population of 700, one doesn't always get a chance to find things around here. To find anything, in most instances, I've got to travel to the 2 nearest "big" towns to find something good and usually the best finds are when I go to Melbourne but that's 3 1/2 hours away to really look properly. My hardcovers are a mixed bag at the moment so I'll have to let you know tomorrow okay - I know I've got 4 spare copies at the moment (1 HB and 3 PBs - reading copies only) to swap and happy to do a trade - for a full list of what I'm after! Thanks!

It's Pegasus in flight but it doesn't have a dustjacket and someone must have scribbled in it before I got it, hence saying reading copy only - more for one's enjoyment then for any "pride and joy" on the bookshelf.
