Hans that's okay, I put the answer in for it so the next person can have a go at theirs. Not sure who it is as the past 2 months have been rather unhealthy for the 3 of us in some form or another so I really haven't been paying attention to MoM much. I'm back for the moment

Kibbie and I had fun at the state capital field trip. The monrn. was spent touring the capital building. The Virginia state capital is the second oldest in use state capital. It is a beautiful building. We also went to Capital Class Room. The kids got to sit in the senaters seats. We learned how roll was take. What pages do and how to call one. How a bill becomes a law. The kids got to discuss a mock bill. They learned how to indacated that they wanted to speak. After discussions they got to vote on the bill.
In the afternoon we went to a civil war site that was free for homeschooler that day. It was the site of a metel factory that made cannons for the war. We learned how cannons were loaded. Kibbie got to help with the demastration. She got the job or caller. Once they were ready to load the cannon she yelled "Ready, load and fire."
We both want to go back for next years Day At The Capital field trip,

We are also trying to find homes for 4 kittens. One of them was hurt last night.
Our large dog is not overly fond the cats. He has never hurt one, but when they wake him up the snaps and thows his head up. He has always missed them by a foot. Last night 2 of the kittens woke him up. I think when he threw his head up he hit one of the babies. It is not walking right and can not open his eyes. He is also yelling like he is in pain. He is now at the vets. I hope he will be ok.

I wasn't able to go to my grandson's birthday party because I wasn't feeling well. Monday I went to the doctor's office and ended up getting shipped out of town. The short version is that I now have two stints in my heart and a lot of sore spots. I'm home again now but probably won't spend a lot of time posting.

Well we'll know you're better Sandi when you start posting lots. I found it to be so with me. Good luck with the stints. It's so much fun ~ NOT! Darling child had them when he was a baby but in a different spot ~ he had them in his nose to help enlarge his nostrils because they were too small. One blessed child thought he had straws to help him breathe. Pretty much summed it up and brought a bright moment or 2 in a very trying time. That and the "Moo cow" jokes, we used to have in the Neonatal unit

You soon learn to laugh when things get tough. Otherwise you ball your eyeballs out in disgust with the world. Laughter is truly the best medicine

Thanks for all the kind words, y'all. It really means a lot to me. And thanks especially for not razzing me about waiting until Monday morning to go to the doctor. I've already had quite enough of that from a lot of directions. I'd never had a heart attack before, how was I to know that was what was happening? Anyway, I am feeling better day by day. It'll just take a little time to get back in the swing of things again. At least now I know what to watch out for!

My neighbour across the road had one of those at work. He wasn't allowed to come home to himself and the doctors said he had to stay somewhere, where someone could keep an eye on him. As we lived several doors down, we were nominated

Sandi, my sister had a mild heart attack about 3 weeks ago. She thought she was having an allergic reaction to seafood. No chest pain, but felt like her throat was closing up. She also had a couple stents put in.

Anyway, hope you will soon be completely recovered!!

Phantom of the Opera this evening at our local high school. There are no words good enough to describe it. I've seen it on Broadway and this was as good, maybe better! Beautiful voices (what a range the boy who sang the Phantom has!), great acting, and the sets are all made by parent volunteers, many of whom have been doing it for years after their own kids graduate. They had a falling chandelier, and a full sized remote control boat for the Phantom and Kristine to ride in to his lair below the Opera House. The music director at the high school has been there for 25 years and each year we think she can't outdo herself. We're wrong! As Mike (Jenn's boyfriend) said, the students who come out of that program should be very grateful and remember how lucky they were to have such good training.

Sandy, you now know what a heart attac fills like, hopfully you won't have another one,
but if you do will go in sooner next time. A lot of people do not relalize that heart attack symptoms are different for women than men. Get lots of rest and feel better soon.

I am hand feeding ktten at the moment. It is getting better, but it can not nurse much so we are hand feeding it also.

Cilla...Phantom of the Opera, that sounds like a lot of fun. The whole thing sounds like it was put together by people who care about their children, their school and their community...when there is such wonderful caring there is always success. I agree with Mike, they should be very thankful for teachers like that.

They thought I had a coronary a few years ago: central chest pain that wouldn't go away. Taken to hospital and wired-up overnight for 12-lead ECG. Damn thing kept sounding alarms every time I dozed off (they didn't know my resting heart rate is around 48). Eventually they deduced that my problem was reflux.

That's not hard to believe. I honestly thought I had indigestion together with aches and pains I thought were due to having been dealing with my grandson most of the previous day. Trouble with heart issues is that the symptoms seem vague and differ from one person to the next.

Cilla, I agree that you seem to have a very special kind of school there. These days they are rare and far between!

I feel woefully out of touch, due to barely making it in here the last several weeks. The kids can't seem to stay healthy for more than a week at a time. Between nursing them (and myself) through various sicknesses, an extended visit from my parents, and celebrating Fiona's first birthday this weekend, I've not had a lot of time to myself.

I'm working on catching up and hope to be around more regularly now.

Sandi - I'm glad you're okay and that delaying to see the doctor (which I would likely have done in your shoes -- why do illnesses hit on the weekend when it's much more costly to get seen?) wasn't too detrimental.

Going to buy a copy of the DVD of the high school performance of Phantom. I'm thinking of getting a portable DVD player to put in the living room (remember, Anneli, where I sit to sew and look out at the bird feeder?) so I can watch movies occasionally. Then when "our" Mike performs in Street Scene by Kurt Weill on April 9 I can watch the DVD we'll be making of it, too!

If you don't want to kill them, we used to get tiny "Hav-A-Heart" traps, catch the mice and put them back outdoors FARRRR from the house. Basically, they were little rectangular plastic boxes with a door in one end that swings in. Put in a blob of peanut butter and mouse goes in but can't get back out. To let it loose you just tip the box, put a long stick against the door so the mouse can get out and "dump". I know, I'm a softy for animals, even those that are causing havoc. Also, just seeing the squished body of a mouse in the spring trap was enough to bring on the kinder version.

Our little brain damanged kitten is doing much better. It will never be normal. It is now able to see somewhat and can walk in straight lines and is even trying to play. We are of course keeping her.

My Hubby, who says he does not like cats, is usually the one she is curled up asleep on. He even fed her today. Actually we are not sure if it is female or male. I have a hard time telling until the are a bit older.

eww,eww,ewwww... my cat just caught a humming bird and tried to give it to me... while it was still alive. she won't kill it, and when it gets loose and starts flying around a gain she just catches it. we sent her outside, and she got all sad and confused that we didn't like it. now she wants back in. ewwww...

The kids can't seem to stay healthy for more than a week at a time. Between nursing them (and myself) through various sicknesses, an extended visit from my parents, and celebrating Fiona's first birthday this weekend, I've not had a lot of time to myself. I'm working on catching up and hope to be around more regularly now. I'm thinking of getting a portable DVD player to put in the living room (remember, Anneli, where I sit to sew and look out at the bird feeder?) so I can watch movies occasionally. Basically, they were little rectangular plastic boxes with a door in one end that swings in. Put in a blob of peanut butter and mouse goes in but can't get back out. To let it loose you just tip the box, put a long stick against the door so the mouse can get out and "dump". I know, I'm a softy for animals, even those that are causing havoc. Also, just seeing the squished body of a mouse in the spring trap was enough to bring on the kinder version. __________________ What we have once enjoyed we can never lose. It will never be normal. It is now able to see somewhat and can walk in straight lines and is even trying to play. He even fed her today. Actually we are not sure if it is female or male.
