We watch the seasons change here! Even though winter in New England can be harsh, I would not want to live somewhere that was constantly warm (or cold, for that matter). Right now the leaves are slowly changing, if I'm lucky enough to get a decent picture, I'll post a link to my photobucket!

It's started getting Really Chilly here. I was up on the top of Molas Pass (10,910') on tuesday and it was 47 degrees F at 1 pm. It's also most definitely fall. I took this on tuesday from about 10,000 feet. Yes, that is snow on the peak.

That's beautiful! Were you hiking that high up or is that a highway pass, and you were driving through?!

There's a road known as the Million Dollar Highway that goes north of town. The pic is from the side of it. I did a small hike at probably 10,500 and was surprised that I wasn't out of breath, which means I've finally reacclimitized after being gone for a month over the summer. I drive up to the big pass occasionally just to remember why it is nice to live here. In the winter it was like I was standing on top of the world.

It's cooling off a little now, but not much yet. Though some leaves are already turning and falling.
Temperatures have been going from the 50s at night to high 60s and low 71s by noon, but it was 80s over the weekend.

I'm pretty sure England (Or the Midlands in England) skipped Autumn completely and we've gone straight to winter...>.<

It was hot and dry, then it was cool, then it was HOT, then it poured down a torrent of rain last night, and now it's cool again.

It's been terribly hot and humid here too. Though we finally got rain the other day and it is now looking like the humidity has broken and cooler temps are finally here!! What a relief!! Open windows inviting the cool breezes of the evening to sweep through the house!! YEAH!!!

I love Autumn. It's most definitely my favourite of the 4 seasons.

I like to see all the colours change, and to feel the cool air on my skin. I like that it slowly gets darker and that you can look forward to coming home to a nice cup of varm tea after being outside feeling the weather.

Today, it actually felt like fall. The two previous days, it really felt like summer had not left. Although, I suppose I should enjoy the nice weather while it lasts because the cold weather is not that far away.

I think Fall will arrive where I live around November 10th. Winter will arrive around February 16th. Spring will be there February 19th. And Summer will return March 2nd.

Anyone else hate Texas seasons?? I'm a 5th generation native of Texas, but it doesn't mean I have to like the seasons... We're still hitting 91°F to 93°F here.

Yes, Susan, I grew up in Mich and NJ and then moved to Texas. My husband (born here in Texas) has always said we only have two seasons Summer and Spring ( or is that Fall). Anyway, we don't really have a winter. It goes right to a few cold (cool?) days and then back to summer. I miss the really deep cold and especially the snow. Oh, and that beautiful color change of the trees. We just go from green to brown.

It has started to get cold at night now. The day temps are still in the 80's.

Day temps in the 80s....come December and January, I'll start silently wishing for summer to return.

I do like winter, but I hate the days when the windchill is below zero although those normally don't come until January, but there can still be some very cold days in December through February. On days that like you could be wearing several layers of clothing and still be cold.
