Default mayfair and commodore 64

Cheryl, finally I've worked it out. Thank you! Not sure how I did it but here goes!

Amongst all of the MoM supporters out there, help (PLEASE)!

I am looking for the Mayfair and Commodore 64 games of the Dragonriders of Pern series. Have tried ebay, bookstores, gaming shops, 2nd hand dealers etc..etc...and so forth. These games were created in the 1980's.

Does anyone know where I would be able to find them or are they so elusive that I am unable find them?

If you're able to help, that would be appreciated. Even if it's a web address or trusty snail mail.

THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart.

Jube, try bookfinder.com. The book games could be found there too, but eBay is probably your best bet. You'll just have to keep checking eBay. They do come up now and again. I think I found my Commodore game at a yard sale or something like that, so try those too. Second hand shops have all sorts of odds and ends, so old computer games and books can be found there too. Ya just have to keep looking in any nook or cranny you can find. You'll find them, eventually, if you keep looking. Good luck with your search!

If you find more than one... The ones I'm still looking for are indeed the same Epyx computer games for the old Commodore and Atari.

The Mayfair bookgame regularly pops up on eBay. I recently saw one.

Oh, also give pawn shops a try. They sell used computer games, tho I'm not sure if they'd go for such old ones. Just a thought.

thanks ~~( '> but unfortunately by the time I got to those 2 particular items, it was closed. However Ghyle put me onto the Commodore 64 game which I've brought and now eagerly awaiting it's return. I'll have another go at the mayfair game now that I know there are some out there. Please keep searching (sometimes the US/UK markets are better then the Aussie ones, because I've never seen the boardgame in Australia and some people look at one idiotically when you asked them if they've heard of it before. It's like "What boardgame? She's only ever written books!"

D'oh (as Homer Simpson would say), there are more ways to skin a cat then just one - not that I would want to do that to any living creature.

I did go to ebay and checked it out but the seller was only interested in US market. Left a question to see if he/she will send to Australia. Will find out later, I guess.

Checked it all out on ebay. The boardgame was closed by the time I got to it, however there was another one for sale but the seller was into the US market so I left a question for him/her to see if they'll send to Australia.

As for Hans, try the Australian ebay sites as they're more into it. If not, I'll have a look too for you. Ghyle put me onto one which I brought and now eagerly awaiting it. Not fussed about Commodore itself, just the game as I'm trying to complete my basic collection before adding on all the extras on top.

You can find front and back views of the Commodore game here;

Just in case you haven't seen what it looks like!
The box measures 6 1/4 inches square *(160 mms)* and is 5/8th of an inch *(15mm)* thick.

Good hunting!

Despite the fact that the original game Commodore 64 game cost $49.90 I don't like the price of $16.99 *shrug* Postage to the Netherlands will make it worse (my definite disadvantage).

Not saying it ain't worth it, no way but with the number these were made in I am waiting for a garage sale or better deal

I've seen them really cheap...of course, the box is long gone. Why bother if you can not have the box?? Not like you can play the game. Pity they do not make that one for present computers. The graphics look great.

There once was an online gallery in which you could even play the game online. Do you, perchance, know about that, too?

Bagpuss, Thank you so much for putting up so much of the information to find this, I think that I am going to spend the $60.00 and get the one version that I could play on my computer. I love to play old video game, the new ones, are to complicated for me to enjoy. I like the simpler days of the old games, and would love to play this game.

The one mouse quoted was only 16.99, Maelin!

You don't mean the new PC game, don't you? Because I've seen that one go for about 45 dollars indeed.

And uh... if anybody wants one for that price, contact me

Yes it was the one that Bagpuss was talking about, we went and read it all through, and it has lots of the old games that I use to really love, and at least know how to manage to play. It also has the old Star Trek game for my hubby. It has three CD's, and 15,000 games on it, and it sound great to me !! If I could get it cheaper, I wouldn't hesitate at all.

I have made a mountains out of molehills scenario, haven't I?

I'm just providing an update on my Searches and I'm waiting on a parcel for the commodore 64 and the boardgame was sold from under my feet so to speak. So I've gone back to the drawing board and having another Search.

Are we having a retro 80's month? Because everyone's remembered about it, now. Hope you have fun looking too?

Yes, p&h can be a pain, especially when you're "overseas" and they have to send via international rates as opposed to your normal "country rates". I'm going on another search now so I'll be back later or tomorrow to see how life is treating you all.

By the egg, I searched and couldn't find any more because they've all sold. I'm disappointed so I'll leave and come back another day when I'm smiling again. Please keep looking if you can, sending your way, in the meantime.

I'm back but everything's sold and I've missed out by a cat's whisker. So I'll have to try again later.

I would be interested in knowing that also, as I have asked for the game in one of its guises

for Christmas

Although with some good thought, I would probably like the BIG C-64 set, with the

15,000 games on it. But it never hurts to know the price of any of it.

Thanks Jube !!!!

In Australian dollar + p/h $25. All 5 games plus instructions and cover in reasonably good condition, considering that this was nearly 20-25 years ago when it came out. I haven't played it due to no com64 in house. Brought it from Aussie e-bayer in Qld who has retro games etc. Haven't got details here but will post when have them.
