Default Just had the most amazing experience

Just got back from.. what must be the most amazing thing I've done, so far at least...

The place where I go swimming, had a poster up, about scuba diving taster, and mum and I signed up.

Wow, is a major understatement. There were only 5 of us, not including the instructors, thank goodness there were no more than that, it's a small pool at that, we just have enough room.

Got a bit of jaw ache, from biting down to hard on the regulator.. but hey, it was my first time.

I"m so wanting to do that again.

That is fantastic and I say "good for you!" A friend of my daughter's went skydiving (piggy-back) a few weeks ago and loved it. Expanding horizons, daring to try new things! Hooray!

I hope you are both able to explore the possibilities further. You may even be able to link underwater studies with the skills you're working on in classes. Who knows? You may turn out to be a modern-day Jaques Cousteau!

Sounds like it was fun. The one time I tried scuba diving I was unable to do it due to the pressure that built up in my ears. I was unable to equailize it. But good for you for trying something new and enjoying it!!

Oh this sounds so fantastic, I have always wanted to go Scuba Diving. Good Luck with getting into a real full course. Are you wanting to eventually go in the ocean with it?

Ty, see if there's a diving center where you are. I'd love to go scuba diving in an ocean... preferably a nice warm one....

A lot of centres line up courses to coincide with school summer holidays.

Wow! Very cool!!!

I used to really want to learn to do that, I think it would be the neatest thing. Unfortunately I'm horribly claustrophobic, and I can't handle the mask being over my nose. It's really frustrating.

That is cool, Sokar. My husband is a diver, also. He has his certification. I have tried a few times, but just can't take being too deep. I am pretty happy just to snorkel around. We have a fairly large pool and he brings out the equipment and shows the kids how to use it. They don't go very deep, but at least it gets them interested in it. It is really a cool feeling under the water.

That's great, Sokar! Glad you've managed to get a full course booked up. July is going to be fun for you!

All four of us - me, husband and the kids - did a scuba-diving taster session in a swimming pool at a campsite in France a couple of years ago. We all enjoyed it but the one who took to it best was my daughter, who was six at the time!
