Campfire Coffee Story, the Creation of the Truck Stop/Norwegian Coffee

When I was very young, I was camping with my whole family, the two sets of Grandparents and one of my uncles. Being so young, I had seen the adults make perked coffee, but never made it until this trip.
One of the adults had the kindling and wood ready to start from the embers from the night before in the cement fire pit, placing the heavy metal grate over it.
Filling up the campfire coffee pot, with the last of the water from the container, taking it with them to refill while up at the hand pumped well near the Picnic shelter Leaving out the now full pot and the can of coffee out. Then leaving it out on the table ready to put on the pot when the fire was ready for it. Then had to answer the call of nature up at the shelter outhouses, near by, the fire had taken hold, while the adult was gone. Then not knowing that I had followed the adult out of our tent, I decided to make them coffee. I had filled the that basket held the ground coffee inside the full pot, and not knowing how much to , so to be on the safe side, I filled it full, use fput ,in too much, way too much grounds put the top on and . placedon the grill. Letting it start to perk, I do not know how long it had perked, when the adults came to pour it out it was so thick and strong that like mud I am thinking of Klah that has been left on the heat that has become too strong and bitter, but not left on overnight.
One grandmother called it Norwegian coffee, my father and my one uncle on that trip were semi-truck drivers so they called Truck Stop coffee!. Who had made i did ? I said I did. They took a quarter of it and mixed it with hot water to drink it, The coffee, was then drinkable but, still strong. We had to perk about five times to get out the entire flavor out of my pot of coffee. If I recall right we had coffee for the rest of that trip. 'blushing. and a shy grin' at that memory.
Therefore, I did not know that use 1-2 teaspoon for each cup of coffee brewed.

Default Re: Campfire Coffee Story, the Creation of the Truck Stop/Norwegian Coffee

GinnyStar Here, I do have a additional story, from my real life, which is you could say is Part II of this, Its one reasonwhy I made coffee for all of us, but its going to take me llonger to transcribe that idea into writting, its also related to a different time when I used the same way to help make dinner in the MOM HQ Thread, a expanding my post their, just something from my memoies, I think, I might have one more but its more funny in what we do, before we go, and what happens to my kin later on, but its nothing to lol about, outside of the memoies , that is one way to ge years later now, the way it happemn, is more funny , but its reminding me of two other storiesbackground stories one in DFDragonseyes/Red Star Rising and the other in Nirlika's Story, I shall have to come back and fix my spelling on that, my finger s are starting to tired so if you folks whant to read a few more I have them, not quite written, but can't use them to help me learn once more.
