My sister gave Kibbie an early Christmas present. It is a bundent cake pan of a circle of trees with a small train going around the trees. She make a cake using the pan tonight, it look really good.
She put green food coloring in the batter and then sprinkled powdered sugar over the tree. When she finished it look like it snowed in the woods. She did a very good job on it.

P'ter, one EXTRA LARGE slice for you coming up too, just to cheer you up after all the things that went wrong for you. Merry Xmas and hope it tastes good.

Hans if that's a broad hint for your birthday, I hate to see what the photo looks like so where is it? Hint, hint,

Yummy yummy!

I also fancy the haggis whistle!

One our local hospices has announced a money raising Burns Night 'do'. But they're doing it with a chinese menu so they're calling it 'Chinese Burns'.

OUCH!

P'ter, P'ter, just don't give me any haggis, thanks. Had enough fun when dad used to try and give us "blood puddings", think he was kind of out-voted on that score *shudders*. I think I rather have a bite out of Hans' whiskey cake.

Next time Kibby bakes a cake I will take a pic.

Sunday Kibby, Hubby & I went to the Appomattox Surrender Ground, where the Civil War ended, they were having a free open house. We had a nice time. I had not been there since I was about 13. Neither Kibby or Hubby had ever been.
Kibby completed a Jr. Ranger work book and got a nice certf. and a badge. She had to find things that was located in the "Village" and answer questions about on how the war ended. I think she learned a lot. Hubby bought her some Confederate money so she got another bag for her collection. It was a nice day.

Brrrr, it has been below freezing for the past two days. I am heading for the fireplace and the big cozy chair. I have some raspberry hot chocolate, yummy, and some cookies. I think I will just curl up and get warm while I read a wonderful book. I think I will start over with Dragonflight. Join if you would like. Bring a mug and I will gladly share my hot chocolate and cookies.

I should know better than to come in here just before bedtime. How am I supposed to sleep after eating so much chocolate???

Maw, the outing to Appomatox sounds interesting. You know, for all the years I lived in Virginia, I never went there. Don't know why, really. Williamsburg used to be interesting but I think it's become very commercial since Bush Gardens opened up. Wonder if you cold claim a trip there as a tax exemption for educational purposes?

I do not get any tax break for home schooling. Nothing is tax exempt.
The reason we went Sunday was because it was a FREE open house. So I couldn't claim it anyway.

Well, I meant Williamsburg and Bush Gardens. Should have included a with that post anyhow. I thought there was some kind of provision for home schooling but since my only child is 30 years old I don't honestly pay a lot of attention to such things.

And Edith, you really must try a Belgian Waffle. I'd like to know if they really are any different from the ones available elsewhere.

Only if those cool Fruit Juices have been fermented. hehe After my shopping excursion this afternoon, a little been of wine would be much appreciated. I love her to death, but I can only walk slow for so long. All joking aside, I really did enjoy myself. But the wine would be good.

After going to looks at Christmas lights with niece Robin and her staying the night I could use a STRONG drink. Robin was in a MOOD.
She wanted to boss Kibbie around and got very upset when it did not happen. She also thought I needed to know every time Kibby moved. Robin really hated it when you tell her to MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS!
I feel like I spent the last day & night with 2 5 year olds instead of a 13 and 21 year old.

I've been there once (I still need to put my Escher poster on the wall but I can't think of the "right" place)- I think I'll walk from the station to the centre to see what the city looks like at Christmas before getting a tram back. (You'd think I'd have had enough of sightseeing and travelling by now!)

I've got a good bottle of AVA here, it's a very nice rose wine, YUMMY. Made by one of our local winemakers. Plenty of vineyards around here to get a good drop or 2.

I had mint tea and hot chocolate together something like mint flavor chocolate. Yum!
Used my one cup at a time coffee brewe,- you can use it to heat water for tea, oatmeal and soup the instant kind, lol I'm am starting to get the hang of it.

I used three tea bags, worked like a charm!

I could use something STRONG, I just got back from a little bit of last min. Christmas shopping. The only thing I need to get tomorrow is Kibbie's fruit for her stocking. I always give her fruit. I did not want her to see it and I did not want to leave it in the van over night. I was afraid it might freeze. It has gotten very cold here. So I will get it tomorrow.

Kibbie has said I should let her open the package that Jube and the one Hans sent her tonight because in some parts of the world it was Christmas Eve. I pointed out that she was not opening them until Christmas day and her that was not another 2 days. She keeps trying.
