What do tags do?

Do you just not see the point of tags on a forum, or do you have no familiarity with them at all? They're very common with blogs, to help categorize the subject matter of posts so that someone can then easily find all blog posts with a certain tag that interests them. On forums, they're harder to remember to set and therefore not that useful.

Not so much familiarity with them. It's not a feature used at AMcCF or PF, and I just never noticed them here until now.

It's interesting that it looks like anyone can go in the tags box and edit them
