I wish you a happy birthday

Here's your birthday cake. I'm not really good at cakes, as you know I love cooking but YOU are the baking lady, I am the cooking guy

I hope you have a nice day and evening. This coming year (read: the coming twelve months) will be a momentous year, I feel it in my half century old bones

Special in ways of work, writing, friends and travel. Well... I wish and hope for all those things for you and keep my fingers crossed for all of them: they should be yours this year!

A happy 50th and many more returns my dear.

Thank you so much, everyone - what lovely birthday wishes, and Hans, that's a great cake!

I had my big party on Saturday and am still recovering, so it wasn't so bad being alone much of the day. The cats and I did some impressive napping!

Still, I began the day waking up at the home of the lovely Jane Yolen in company with lots of my dear friends, and you can't really improve on that.

Thank you for all the good wishes, my dears. I'll take all I can get!

And Hans, I feel that too - I am SO excited about this proposal, just need to wave farewell to my old friend Sue and her son on Saturday to have enough time to work on it. Wheee - gosh, I think it may be quite liberating being 50...

What a great crowd. Thanks again, you wonderful lot.
