Default Daylight Saving switch this weekend in the US

I was surprised to learn that in the US, the Daylight Saving clock change is this weekend. Since I learned by happenstance, I figure others may not realize either.

So, this Sat night, don't forget to "spring" your clock forward by an hour.

This public service announcement has been brought to you by the letters D, S, and T, and the number 2 (as in 2AM, when the time officially jumps).

As P'ter said, not just the UK but the rest of Europe doesn't spring until 30 March

I'm happy that I'm on spring break while the change is happening, so I'll have some time to adjust to it, and not have to worry about classes.

Yes Cheryl as an educator we get told every year but the USA is kicking forth a "save the planet" type of campaign. Since last year, which is why we did not set the clocks back until November or late October this time. It made things strange but I agree that if we do not do something to help the EARTH we are all headed for disaster. This bit of conservation is one step in the right direction, so even though it is madly crazy early, I am more than willing to do my share.

I'd rather have it "the same" all year round. I love it light in the evening! I'm always glad when Daylight Savings comes, and sad when we go back to Standard Time. Having it get dark at 4:30ish is waaaaay too early for me!

Cilla - I'm in total agreement with you!!! I'd rather they just kept it at this time all year long! Arizona doesn't change the time and I think there's one or two other states who don't. I wanna go live there! Up here it gets dark at around 3:30 - 4:00 so when I leave work at 5 it's pitch black outside. I hate that! Don't like driving in the dark at all. But it was nice to have the time change later in Nov and earlier this year.

I vote for it staying the same too, to bad we don't get to vote on it. I love getting up in the morning...but I love having the lighter times in the evenging too...especially in the summer months when you can really enjoy those lazy summer eveings.

At least with the clock turning back difference, between the U.S. and Europe, some of my friends are an hour closer now, well at least for another few weeks....YIPEEE!!!
